the ¢ommunities we serve in. Necessittes UK COn￿ntrateS its work in Thurrock Essexand aimsto enablethis community
to move awayfrom mU￿1ple deprivation experienced by our seNic& Jjsèrs.

Our operational team welcome residents of Thurrock who 3re need who have been referred to us vla our refèrral
partner such as C3re4Calais, Mlnd for Thurro¢k and Brentwood. Thurrock Council, Hathaway Academy, Gateway
Academyi Thurrock CVS, Uturnships, Changing Pathways. Crisis Sanctuary. Welcome to the UK (Grays) and the Citizens
Advice Bureau. We also welcome walk-ins from members of the public as an emergency service.

perstsnal information such as their name, address, number of people in their household and two statements rèlating
to food allergies and intolerante and personal dats. We reassure our service Use￿ thattheir data 15 never shared wf(h
any external source or usÈd maliciously in line wtth our privacy poliry.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Our uniquè nodel looked at the current systems of relief in the UK and reviewed howwe can become a leader in a
System change ot tackling poverty and hunger. We found a gap, atte5s. We inserted ourchartty into the gaps of
accessibility, prevention. and practical support to ensure that we are helpingto prevènt hunger and povety in earh
¢offtmuntty thatwe work in and that we offer a MO￿ padded approach to helping our service users with any
intersèttÈonal needs that affett them. Wrth our unique operation modèl. we were awarded the most 5UPPQrtive food
and hygiene bank. East of England by Acouisttions Intemational in their non-profft organisètion awards 2023.
At Necessiti￿ UK, we believe in orderto splinter poverty we neèd to work on beatlng poverty in small but precise
steps. We tackle poverty by openin8 access to relief.
These small. but precTse stsps have associated beneffts su¢h as the p￿ven￿on of food and hwene waste. the
réduttion of food and hygiene insecurity, and hamionious and collaborative partnership with otherfood charities in

service users, liv￿. Ourfogd bank is known to be inclusNe as we knowfood and hy￿entr poverty is a very sensitive
topic to peoplè and we are aware of stlgmas attad)ed to food banks. We want to work with the communityto tatèrto
all preferences. religious observations. and allergies. Therefore. we offtr gluten free, dairy free. nut free. ve&dn.
vegetarian, halal, and kosher food parcels.
We make it a pointto pick up good and nutritious food Items. also speual items such as chocolète. takes, squash and
othèr items considered a treat. We appreciate that we tan buy ￿0st of our rtems so that it is fresh. untsrnpered with
and we can provide more choice as well as always have staple items like milk. pasts. tea, and ￿real$. In 2024, we
were fortunate to receive grantfunding to buy t￿0 refroEerators tQ Start purchasing and storing perlshablÈ goods such
as fruits and vegetables to eXpar￿ our services users parcels wth healthy and nutritious options.
From the 1° January- 31 December 2024we gave out 299 parcels and this impacted a total of 919 pèoplè.
