Structure, governance and management
The Tony Farley Foundation is governed by its CIO constitution. The trustees are responsible for setting strategic direction, overseeing activities, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations. During 2023, the trustees met four times to discuss the development of the charity’s governance, policy framework, and future operational capacity.
Objectives and activities
The charity’s object is to advance education for the public benefit through the provision of grants of financial assistance to economically disadvantaged current or prospective students of The College of Practical Homeopathy (CPH), to support them in the completion of their education and professional qualification in homeopathy.
To meet this object, the Foundation aims to:

Provide financial assistance to students facing economic barriers to completing their training;

Support these students in achieving professional qualifications;

Promote educational access and equal opportunity within homeopathy education.
Public benefit statement
The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. By offering financial assistance to disadvantaged students, the Foundation’s work continues to align with the advancement of education for public benefit.
Achievements and performance for the year ended 31 December 2023
2023 marked the Foundation’s second full financial year since registration. The trustees focused on operational development and took steps to begin delivering its charitable purposes.
Key achievements:

Held four trustee meetings to review and strengthen governance.

Developed core policies and administrative procedures.

Vetted and approved the Foundation’s first candidate for a grant.

Made the first grant payment at the end of the year to support a fully funded postgraduate student at The College of Practical Homeopathy (CPH).
Financial review
During the year, the Foundation received total donations of £401 and made grant payments of £400, leaving a closing balance of £1 at the year end. No other income or expenditure occurred.

The trustees consider the financial position satisfactory for this stage of the Foundation’s development. Future plans include maintaining modest reserves to ensure stable grant-making activity.

The trustees have identified and monitored key risks to the charity’s operation, including: - Governance and capacity risk, mitigated through the appointment of an additional trustee and continued development of internal policies.

Plans for future periods
In 2024 and beyond, the trustees plan to:
