## The year to 31[st] December 2022

Trustees met virtually every month to develop the practical objectives of the charity, which are to promote community participation in healthy recreation through the sport of golf. The focus in the year was to ensure that adequate systems are in place for achieving the objectives and plan forward to ensure its success into the future.

Trustee’s had several meetings with Wales Golf, the Directors of Tenby Golf Club and golf coaching staff to establish protocols, working relationships, access to facilities and support for recruited new to golf individuals. These meetings established how the charity can proceed and were very successful in achieving promises of support and enabling free access to facilities.

Throughout the year Trustees have been guided by the Charity Commissions guidance on ensuring public benefit and have issued grants policies and a practical working document to specify the geographic area in which the charity will work.

In September the charity supported a ladies New to Golf programme. There were 12 participants, mostly completely new to the sport, and most attended all 6 of the coaching sessions. At least six ladies have continued to play golf regularly and others are maintaining links with each other. This is a substantial success and encourages Trustee’s to maintain the momentum into 2023.

The delivery of this programme was supported by six volunteers in addition to Trustee’s.

Towards the end of the year Trustees agreed to a programme of events starting in the spring of 2023 targeting juniors and ladies specifically but also examining how to work with other groups to develop a health agenda with the sport of golf.

## Finances

The charity received a gift in lieu of a legacy from a past member of £10,000. This was the only income in the year and was donated primarily to support young people into golf.

The only expenditure in the year was the sum of £763 to support the ladies new to golf programme in September.

There are no other funds and the balance of the account at 31[st] December was £9,234.

Trustees were mindful of developing sources of sustainable funding for the future and started to develop initiatives towards the end of the year for launching during the spring of 2023.

The Trustees have approved the Report above
