Structure of Charity and the board
The Charity ‘Smiling Heart Foundation UK’ is governed by the three trustees, including the founding trustee and chairman Dr Nagarajan Muthialu and the other two trustees Mrs Anuradha Kambi and Dr Kiran Viswanath.
At present, there is no intention to change this composition and there is no plan to recruit any new trustees.
The charity governing board comprises of further three people now. This includes Dr Prathiba Chandershekar, Mrs Yamini Clarke and Dr Pooja Shetty.
The board may invite interested public person of interest to be part of the board in future. The election to this board is done by the voting members as above, and is done during one of the charity meetings.
Objectives
The smiling heart foundation UK is a charitable organisation dedicated to assisting small babies and children born with congenital heart defects (CHD) in developing countries. The significant gap between the prevalence of CHD and the limited access to medical assistance for these children

Achievements and activities
Regular mission to India: this is to fund and support surgical / medical support for children with congenital heart defects.
Number of missions so far: 14 Number of surgeries conducted: 162 Cities covered in India: 6
Financial review
Charity organisation completed its first formal fundraising event in July 2023 and collected funds as per the chart submitted for the above missions. In addition, there were events (fundraising as part of the event including climbing Snowdonia and climbing Kilimanjaro by the founding trustee Dr Nagarajan Muthialu, Dr Prathiba Chandershekar and Mr Anirudha Nagarajan) had helped in further fundraising for the events.
The funds are saved with the Metro Bank under charity’s account name ‘Smiling Heart Foundation UK’.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 05/04/2025 . Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
