Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 This was the third year of the charity’s
existence.
As per previous year, initial efforts were
focused on finalising the opening of a bank
account, which was completed in May-24.
The two Trustee meetings focused on the
development of the charity’s giving strategy,
continued efforts into opening of a bank
account. The giving strategy discussions
primarily focused on further development of
the cause allocation framework. Calls were
held and emails exchanged with the
organisations we have previous and / or
subsequently given to, Raise and SCL.
Further discussions took place over email /
Whatsapp, which included the decision to
make a donation to Founders Pledge in light
of the USAID funding cuts (payment made
at the start of Apr-25 so in the following
financial year).
Raise operates a matching scheme for
student donors to the Against Malaria
Foundation. Donations to Raise from
students are equally matched by donors (or
sometimes doubled), offering the students
the opportunity to know their giving is going
even further. We agreed to further support
Raise in the coming academic year
(payment made in financial year 25-26).
SCL researches protest strategy, seeking to
determine the ultimate effectiveness of
campaigns depending on tactics
implemented by participants. It seeks to
transmit these findings to relevant groups on
various issues (eg climate). We decided to
hold off on further funding at this stage,
having provided funding in the prior year.
Operations at the CIO continue to move
slowly, despite finally opening the bank
account. We continue to be constrained by
the limited time availability of all trustees.
