The main activities are to provide grants, raise awareness, campaign for positive change and to seek equality for ADHD children and adults. Specialising in marginalised members of society, e.g. homeless, ex-offenders and those impacted by addiction. All trustees have confirmed that they have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. ## Policy on grant making Applications to be made to the Board, and to be considered on financial means of the applicant, their current mental state, involvement with addiction, the criminal justice system and their risk to themselves and others. ## Achievements and performance The Charity Trustees have been working extremely hard to raise awareness of adult ADHD and childhood ADHD, particularly in homeless, addiction and offending areas. The CEO has given talks on ADHD in Aberdeen and Nice in France for ADHD Europe. The CEO and trustees have visited homeless charities, addiction charities, schools, Prisons and Probations, in an attempt to raise awareness of ADHD. Many members of the charity attended the Caroline Flack annual festival in aid of mental health charities. The CEO has appeared on numerous podcasts and webinars, written articles for newspapers and magazines and released her third book on helping parents understand their ADHD teenagers. The vast majority of the work the CEO does is unpaid, and she has not taken one penny from the charity. All the work she does to raise awareness is unpaid and she pays for all her own costs. ## Achievements against objectives set More than expected. The charity’s passion has contributed to the new NHS ADHD task force looking into the amount of ADHD in the criminal justice system. Page 4 of 10 The charity has also joined forces with MP Matt Hancock’s Charity, THE ASSISTED LEARNING FOUNDATION who were pushing for dyslexia screening in schools. Due to ADHD Liberty’s campaigning, he has agreed to change his bill in parliament to a bill that covers all neuro divergency rather than just dyslexia. ## Fundraising Fundraising has started with a JustGiving page. Corporation Tax has already been donated to the charity. There are plans in the year ahead for several fundraising activities. A lot of time has been invested into setting up the charity, getting the right trustees on board, finding the right ambassadors for the charity, and setting everything up, ready to take on much more campaigning work in future. ## **Financial Review** The charity is in a healthy financial position. It has no overdraft facilities and will never be in any overdraft position. Currently the charity has over £15,000 in the bank. Reserves are only held to ensure that the Charity has money available for emergency cases. Also, because there is no overdraft facility the Charity does not want to be in a negative equity position. ## Going concern There are no uncertainties about the Charity continuing as a going concern. The Charity is in a strong position with more trustees. The trustees include two serving police officers, two fully qualified psychiatrists, a social worker and many people with lived or working experience in the field. We are gathering national and even international attention for the work we are doing, and we have an extremely good reputation. ## Structure, Governance and Management The charity is a CIO Foundation, registered 8th December 2021. The Trustees are chosen by the CEO in conjunction with any current trustees. Signed on behalf of the Trustees: Sarah Templeton – Chairman Page 5 of 10 ## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT** I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the period ended 4th April 2025. ## **Responsibilities and basis of report** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: - the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or - • the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or - the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a “true and fair” view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. Accounting Policies** ## **1.1 Accounting Policies** The principal accounting policies adopted by the Charity, which is a public benefit entity, in the preparation of the accounts are as follows. ## **1.2 Basis of preparation** These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention, as modified by the inclusion of charitable properties and fixed asset investments and investment properties at valuation. These accounts have been prepared in accordance with “Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)” (effective 1 January 2019) - (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011. These accounts are presented in pounds sterling and rounded to the nearest pound. ## **1.3 Going concern** The Trustees have prepared financial projections, taking into consideration the current economic conditions and have, at the time of approving these accounts, a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
