## **Annual Report for Key To Success (2024-2025)**

## **1. Introduction**

Key To Success was established with a clear vision: to advance health and education while fostering a strong and supportive community. Upon becoming a registered charity, we set three primary goals:

1. Establishing a website to create an accessible platform for our work.

2. Setting up a charity bank account to prepare for future financial management.

3. Building a community as the foundation of our long-term impact.

From the outset, we committed to achieving these goals without financial burden on ourselves or others. We recognized that before seeking donations or managing funds, we needed to first build a solid foundation and establish a strong community that could support our mission.

## **2. Building Awareness Through Collaboration**

Once we had successfully established our foundation, we recognized the importance of bringing awareness to Key To Success and the work we do. However, knowing that we did not have the financial means to fund marketing or outreach efforts, we took a strategic approach—collaborating with other organizations and charities.

By working alongside established groups that share our values, we were able to:

- **Expand our reach within the community.**

- **Showcase our mission and initiatives to a wider audience.**

- **Support and strengthen existing community efforts while reinforcing our own presence.**

Through these collaborations, we ensured that Key To Success became an active part of the community, recognized for its commitment to education, youth engagement, and spiritual care.

## **3. Youth Engagement and Support Project**

Recognizing the urgent need to support young people, we launched a youth engagement project to provide a safe and structured environment for them. This initiative was designed to:

- Help youth facing difficulties at home.

- Provide a safe alternative to the streets.

Support Waltham Forest Borough in tackling youth-related challenges, including gang activity. To make this project successful, we focused on providing fun, engaging activities that meet the needs of young people, including:

- Indoor five-a-side football

- Foosball, table tennis, and snooker

- Board games and social activities

## **Collaboration with Ribat**

Since we had committed to operating without financial burden, we partnered with Ribat, which generously agreed to fund the project. This allowed us to offer high-quality engagement without financial strain.

## **A Specialist Team for Youth Support**

To maximize impact, we assembled a dedicated and skilled team, including:

1. A chaplain providing spiritual and pastoral care.

2. A psychologist helping assess and support young people in need.

3. A youth worker with expertise in engaging and mentoring young people.

## **Impact and Recognition**

This project has been running for over six months, and its positive impact has been recognized by Waltham Forest Borough, which awarded us a certificate acknowledging our work. This recognition reinforces the importance of our efforts in creating a safer and more supportive community for young people.

## **4. Community Engagement Project with WFIA**

Building on our commitment to community collaboration, we partnered with Waltham Forest Islamic Association (WFIA), a well-recognized mosque in East London, to launch a community engagement project. This initiative creates a welcoming and relaxed environment where individuals can come together to focus on spiritual, social, and health-related matters.

## **Bringing People Together**

The project provides an opportunity for like-minded individuals to connect, reflect, and grow. It includes:

- A warm, social setting with food, coffee, tea, and biscuits.

- Lectures and discussions by a recognized faith leader or scholar, offering uplifting and engaging talks.

- Open Q&A sessions, allowing attendees to gain valuable insights from a qualified scholar—an opportunity they may not have at home.

## **Impact and Engagement**

This initiative has been running for over six months, fostering a strong sense of belonging and spiritual growth. Attendees leave feeling uplifted, connected, and more informed, contributing to a healthier and more engaged community. As a result, Key To Success has strengthened its presence and deepened its impact within the local community.

## **5. Collaboration with Al Jannat Institute: Authentic Islamic Education**

In our ongoing effort to strengthen community education, we partnered with Al Jannat Institute, a newly established charity that, like us, faced limitations in support and resources. Recognizing our complementary strengths, we joined forces to provide structured educational programs for children, youth, and the wider community.

## **A Partnership to Ensure Authentic Knowledge**

Al Jannat Institute provides the community access through its established center. Key To Success provides qualified scholars, ensuring that authentic and well-sourced Islamic education is available.

This collaboration allows people to learn their religion in a safe and accurate manner, without concerns about misinformation or misguidance. Parents can feel reassured knowing their children are learning from trusted, knowledgeable scholars rather than relying on unverified sources online.

## **Preventing Misinformation and Tackling Radicalization**

By offering structured and genuine Islamic education, this initiative helps protect the community from misinformation, extremism, and radicalization. Through our combined efforts, we are fostering a stronger, well-informed generation that is rooted in an authentic and responsible religious understanding through a qualified registered Muslim Chaplain

## **6. Pastoral and Spiritual Care Through Chaplaincy**

As part of our commitment to community well-being, we have been actively providing pastoral and spiritual care through our chaplaincy department. This service has been vital in offering counseling and support to individuals facing:

- Bereavement and grief

- Marital crises and family conflicts

- Emotional and spiritual challenges

- Remote Support and Guidance

Since we do not have a physical center, most of our chaplaincy work is conducted via phone calls. When someone is in need, we connect them with a qualified scholar who can provide:

- Emotional and spiritual support

- Guidance and practical advice

- A listening ear to help them through difficult times

This initiative ensures that those in crisis are not left without support, reinforcing our mission to uplift and assist the community in all aspects of life.

## **7. Conclusion and Future Goals**

The 2024-2025 year has been a transformative and strategic period for Key To Success. Unlike many newly established charities that immediately focus on fundraising, we made a deliberate decision to build our foundation without financial dependency. Our goal was to establish our presence, engage the community, and create meaningful impact—without relying on financial means or placing any financial burden on ourselves or others.

We successfully achieved this by:

- Setting up the essential infrastructure—our website and charity bank account.

- Building awareness through collaborations instead of fundraising.

- Engaging the community with impactful initiatives such as the youth project, chaplaincy services, and educational programs.

This approach ensured that our charity’s growth was organic, sustainable, and rooted in strong community engagement, rather than being dependent on donations from the outset.

## **Looking Ahead: Goals for 2025-2026**

Now that our foundation is firmly in place, we are ready to move to the next phase of our journey. Our key objectives for the upcoming year include:

- Starting fundraising efforts to support our expansion in a sustainable manner.

- Securing a dedicated space, either by leasing a property or hiring one hourly, to facilitate our growing activities.

- Expanding our team, by increasing volunteer involvement and potentially hiring staff to enhance our services.

Our experience in 2024-2025 has shown that true community impact does not require immediate financial reliance—it requires vision, collaboration, and commitment. As we move forward into 2025-2026, we will maintain these principles while gradually incorporating financial means to support and enhance our work.
