|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to<br>those purposes for the<br>public benefit, in<br>particular, the activities,<br>projects or services<br>identified in the accounts.|Para<br>1.17 and<br>1.19|The organisation arranged and promoted multiple<br>litter picks per week throughout the Aylesbury area.<br>A significant aspect of this is the provision of<br>equipment including pickers, high visibility tabards,<br>gloves and various other resources required to<br>complete litter picks safely and successfully.<br>The charity has worked with the local Council,<br>landowners, local groups and communities to<br>ensure that the areas in most need of attention are<br>targeted as well as the practical arrangements such<br>as meeting points, parking arrangements and<br>ensuring the litter collected is in a suitable location<br>for removal by the local Council following the event.<br>During the litter picks, members provided advice<br>and guidance about how to remain safe whilst<br>collecting litter in the area as well as taking the<br>opportunity to promote the benefits of keeping the<br>area free of litter and educating the community.<br>The organisation regularly attends local large scale<br>public events (such as Aylesbury Party in The Park<br>Weekend) arranged by Buckinghamshire Council<br>and Aylesbury Town Council with a view to<br>educating the public about the environmental<br>impacts of littering, promoting the benefits of litter<br>picking and promoting a re-purposing and recycling<br>culture.|





|||The organisation has also worked with local<br>businesses, schools and youth groups (e.g. Scouts<br>& Guides) to arrange group litter picks for their staff<br>and students/members as well as craft and<br>educational sessions. All equipment and disposal of<br>waste is provided to those who take part.|

(figure from April 2025).<br>•<br>Some members visited Parliament<br>to highlight the need for Deposit<br>Return Scheme.<br>Figures for calendar year of 2024:<br>•<br>Approximately 2 tons of aluminium<br>cans and Nitrous Oxide canisters<br>recycled.<br>•<br>Approximately 200 volunteers at<br>litter picks over the year giving over<br>3000 volunteer hours.<br>•<br>Over 30 womble workshops<br>presented to youth groups/schools<br>about the impact litter has, reusing,<br>recycling, reducing also talked<br>about in a fun interactive way.<br>•<br>Over £3000 raised for Aylesbury<br>Homeless Action Group from 2024’s<br>Le Womble 24hr. Plus over £1500<br>given to other small local charities.<br>•<br>24 Duke of Edinburgh award<br>volunteers have been given places<br>this year with the charity.<br>•<br>At the Parklife Weekend event in<br>August, the Aylesbury Wombles<br>recycled 71% of the waste. This<br>was an improvement from the<br>previous year of 54% and<br>significantly better than the national<br>average for this type of event (32%)<br>•<br>2 volunteers appointed Keep Britain<br>Tidy Litter Heroes Ambassadors|
