## **Activities of the Trust**

2023-24 has been another very successful year for the Trust.

## **Achievements and Performance**

## **Highlights of Sailability Activities in 2023**

The Trust is proud to have been able to support the following achievements of Sailability at Carsington in 2023.

Supported regular sailing for an average per month of 32 sailors with disabilities between February and November inclusive.

Hosted a Hansa TT racing event for 23 boats as part of the National TT series for Hansa dinghies which are especially developed to be sailed by those with disabilities.

Enabled a total of 81 visitors with a range of disabilities to experience sailing from various groups including local Parkinson’s and Stroke support groups, as well as members of Sportability, BLESMA and Enabling Activities, a local group for young adults with disabilities.

The support provided comprises financial contributions to the running costs of the operations of sailability. These include maintenance and repair of boats and ancillary equipment. Additionally, there were costs associated with inspection, testing and maintenance of the main jetty and hoists. We were also able to raise sufficient funds to complete the purchase of a second hand Venture Keel.

## **Charities Commission Guidance on Public Benefit**

The Trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

This policy and the reserves amount will be reviewed annually.
