The advancement of education among young people within Yorkshire and surrounding areas, in particular those who have been excluded from mainstream school or who are at risk of exclusion, and those who have served custodial sentences or are considered to be at risk of offending or re-offending, by the provision of training in a range of vocational, occupational and social skills and subjects

From 1[st] January 2023 the charity took over the operational activities of The Joseph Project, charity 1112380, with the transfer of employees. The charity has adopted the policies in place for The Joseph Project (trading as The Joseph Trust).
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
The Trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit and consider that all the activities of this charity from the commencement of operational activity in January 2023 fall within the definition of public benefit. The activities were the provision of a therapeutic alternative to mainstream education for those young students who are disadvantaged and struggling to engage with formal education in their local school.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The charity has not operated during the year, but was set up as an incorporated entity to take over from The Joseph Project (charity 1112380, trading as The Joseph Trust) from January 2023. During 2023 the old charity is being wound up and all the assets are being transferred to this charity to complete the change to CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation)

The charity did not commence operating until January 2023. The reserves policy replicates that of the previous charity, with the intention to hold three months of operating costs as a general reserve.
