The Cariad Blanket Project ran several
workshops this year that were open to
members of the public, so that people of
any age or gender could learn creative
skills that could be used to further their
skillset and provide a creative therapeutic
outlet.
The Cariad Blanket Project sent out care
packages, Cariad Blanket Boxes, to
mothers in need of extra support,
including mothers who are sufering from
physical or mental illness, fnancial
hardship, isolation or whose child is facing
physical illness.

Para 1.20 The Cariad Blanket Project ran 19
workshops during this period. 13 of these
were online, 12 of these open to any
adult in the UK, 1 for a university’s staf
as part of a wellbeing event. Of the 6 in
person event, 5 were in Cardif – 2 of
these were available to any adult to
attend, 2 for staf from a university as
part of their wellbeing events, and 2 in
West Sussex. The 19 workshops provided
a variety of craft and creative skills for
attendees to then be able to use for their
own purposes in their daily lives. The in
person workshops provided free materials
for attendees to use.
The project also sent out 27 Cariad
Blanket Boxes (care packages) in this
period, providing signposting to support
for mothers, blankets and hats for babies
and notes of encouragement for
wellbeingof mothers.

its account. This money will be spent to
provide workshops in the next fnancial
period, and continue to sent Cariad
Blanket Boxes to mums across the UK –
including but not limited to postage fees,

wages to pay currently, so the trustees
have not set any of it as a reserve but will
look to do sofor nextyear.
