The trustees present the Foundation's annual rep)rt and finanaal statements for the year ended 301h
June 2025.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ with the accountsng policies, set out in note
1, and comply with the Foundation's ¢xsnstitulion. AddrtK)nalty. the financial statements have been
prepared in line with the Chanties Acl 2011, and Ihe"Accounling and Reporting by Charities." Statement
of Recommended Practi￿ applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republ￿ of Ireland IFRS 102)" {effeclive 1st
January 2019)
Ob"ectives and Activities
Purpose
The object of the CIO is to advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and
Wales} as the trustees see fil from lime to lime. The delivery rrEchanism is wa grant and awards lo
charities, and other good causes. th8t provide public benefit. principally within communities located in
the geographical area of Slaffordshire. Shropshire. Cheshire and Deibyshire.
Main Activities
The current policy of the Trustees is to make a relatively large number of small donations, 2¢ross the
local geographical area. with 2 view to reaching Ictal smallei groups where often small donations of
funds can have significant impacts.
The CIO aims lo distn'bute all funds, depending on the number and surtability of requests received.
Sixteen applications have been received and approved. in the year to 30th June 2025. which were well
spread in lemis of geography. scale of organisation and type of good cause.
Public Benefit
The trustees have had due regard to the guidance issued by the Chartty Commission on public benefit
in deciding which grants to issue.
Achievements and Performance
The Charity aims lo distribute all funds, deperKJing on the number and suilability of requests received.

purchase, collect, and dislribute household items after the effects offires, periods of homelessness,
or to help those who have split from their partners and do not have the means lo purchase Items.
Birchall Park Run
£3,300 granted, to set up a park run in the Birchalls area. The grant is lo fund
the purchase of equipment (signs, hi-vis jackets and a defibrillatorl, lo help with the event, and to
with the ambition to promote health and wellbeing in the ktal area. Typically. such events attract
around 300400 parbcipanls.

Financial Review.
The Charity's financial position is strong. Accounts have been prepared showing income and
expenditure. The CIO have received income of£56,638 and. in line with the CIO'S objectwes, distributed
£41,055 to charitable causes. The Statement of Financial Activities for the period shows a net surplus
of £15,582. No administrative expenses were incurred in the financial penod.
The Charity does not operate a formal poI￿Y on reserves but. al all limes. will maintain suffic￿nt
resources to meet committed expenditsjre and donalions made by the Foundats"on.
structure Governance and Mana
The Leek Building Society Charitable Foundab"on was registered on 3 D￿mber 2021 as a Charitable
Incorporated Organisalion ICIOI.
The trustees of Leek Building s￿Iety Charitable Foundats'on. acting as a board. carry the
responsibility of Complyjng with the requirements of the eonsb"tution and internal financial controls
policy. The trustees meet quarterly.
The maximum length of lime any trustee may serve is 9 years. Apart from the first charity trustees,
every apFx)inted Injslee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of
the charity trustees.
In selecting indwiduals for appointment as apF)ointed charity trustees, the charity trustees musl have
regard to the skills. knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
At 30 June 2025 there were 7 trustees of which 3 are employees of Leek Building Soaety. Leek Building
Society also provided bookkeeping and administration seNices, through the provision of volunteers. No
harge is made for these seNices.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILMES IN RESPECT OF THE TRUSTEES, ANNUAL
REPORT AND THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Under the Conslitulion, and charity law, the trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual
Report and the financial statements in aecordanee with applicable law and regulabons.
The financial statements are required by law to give a Irue and fair view of the state of affairs of the
Foundation and the excess of expenditure over in(x)me for that per￿.
In preparing these financial statements, the trustees must adhere to generally accepted accounting
practices Iunited Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable lawl including FRS102 'The Financial
Reporting Standard, which applies in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. This entails that the Trustees..

They have general responsibility for taking such steps as are reasonably open lo them to safeguard the
assets of the Foundation and to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.

1. Principle accounting pollties
The following £c￿nting policies have teen applied consistenlly in dealing wrth items which are
considered material in relation to the financial ststements.
Basis of preparation
The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention modifi'ed lo include
certain items al fair value. in accordan￿ with the Ststemenl of Recommended Praclice'Accounling
and Reporting by Charities ISORP20191' applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reports"ng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS1021 and the Charities Act 2011.
The Charity is not considered a "large charity" under FRS102 and has therefore taken advantage
of the disclosure Ixemptions available to rt. Exemptions have been taken in relation to the
presentation of accounts. cash flow statement, and extemal audits which are applicable to charities
with gross income below the threshold of £500,000. Subsequently, the Foundab"on do not prepare
ash flow statements and. instead of a formal intemal audit. use an independent examiner lo review
and sign off the accounts.
Basis of accounting
Gross income is below £250,000. Therefore. as the CIO meets the criteria and is eligible to prepare
receipts and payments accounts.
External scrutiny." An independent examiners report is required as the CIO has gross income above
Ihe threshold of £25,000.
An independent audit is not required, as gross income did not eX￿d £1rn. Furthermore, the
combined fixed plus current assets did nol exceed £3.26m.
Donations
Donations are accounted for as they are received.
Charitable expenditure
Charitable grants and donations are included in the Stslement of Financial Activities when the
Trustees convey their intenb.on to pay a donation to a recipient.
Unrestricted funds
Unrestricted funds are donations and other income resources. receivable or generated for the
objects of the Charity, without further speufied purpose and are available as general funds. These
funds can be used in accordance with the charrtable foundation's objectives and at the discretion
of the Trustees.
Taxation
The Foundation is exempt from taxation on its charilable &ts"vilies.

2. Critical Accounting Adjustments and Key Sources of Estimation Uncertainty
In the appli¢alion of the Foundatson's accounb.ng policies. which are described in note 1, the
Trustees are required lo make judgements. estimates, and assumption5 about the carrying
amounts of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates
and assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered lo be
relevant. Actual results may differ from these eslimales.
The estimates and assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. ReVis￿nS lo accounting
eslimales are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised if the revision affects only
that period or in the period of revision and ftrture peri(xls if the revision affects troth current and
future periods.
The Tiustees do not consider there to be any cntical ￿OUntIng judgements or SoUr￿S of
esbmalion uncertainty requiring disck)sure beyond the accounting FX)licies listed aiK)ve
3. Investment Income
Interest received, in the financial year 1st Juty 2024 to 30th June 2025, via the Charjty's bank
account. lotslled £1,013.
4. Donations received
Donations. received in the financial year. lotalled £55.625. Fundraising activities, and direct
donations lotalled £16.060, whilst recovery of nKJney, ftom the domiant assets scheme and the
iniliabve known generally as Ihe"Reclaim Fund". provided £39,565.
Grants & Donations
Grants & donations. lo gc#)d causes. totalled £41.055. In total. 16 grants were made with awards
ranging from £1,000 to £5,000. Details of some of the awards are referred to on page 4 in the
section "Achievements and Performance..
As at the 30th June 2025, all awards made. during the financial year, had been Iransacled and
paid. No grants remained unpaKJ at the end of the &counting period.

No administrative expenses were incurred in the financial year_ None of the Trustees re￿iVed any
remuneration or reimbursement of expenses in the year.
The Charity does not employ any staff. Other adminislralive seryices, such as accounts preparation
and provision of meeting rooms for the Trustees. are met by Leek Building Soa'ely, but these gifts
in kind are small and not valued, nor is the related expendrture recognised in the financial
statements.
6. Related Party Transactions
As referred lo in note 6, the Society provides administrative services, and accountancy support, for
which it receives no fee.
