Section C Objectives and activities

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

The objective of our charity is to provide a regular safe place for children age 8 to 12 to gain a range of skills both practical and social while positively engaging with the community with environmental and social projects such as, and not limited to village clean ups, community allotment, one planet and much more.

We provide all activities, sessions and trips free of charge with no political or religious influence so as to be as inclusive as possible.

Our activities have been regular weekly sessions during term time for a hour and a half a session, during these sessions we provide various equipment for example Nintendo games consoles, pool table, table tennis, arts and crafts as well as outdoor sports equipment. We regularly get request to help other local groups like making bird scarers for a community allotment or bug hotels for the village recreation ground so we get to try a wide range of activities like woodwork. We have also managed to provide volunteering positions to some of the older children in the village to enable them to complete the duke of Edinburgh award.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)

We now have a real sense of community around the youth club and have a great group of 6 adult volunteers and 4 teen volunteers, the adults all fortunately work in teaching roles so bring invaluable expert help.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Our main achievements this year are having a successful first year at almost full capacity with a wealth of volunteers and securing a regular sponsor for the clubs rent.

We provided a trip to the theatre for 20 children free of charge, a fencing taster lesson, circus skills workshops, woodwork lessons as well as ceramics painting again all free so as no one feels a financial pressure and to avoid children missing out.

We have seen friendships develop between children from different school settings and backgrounds like homeschooled children having a place to meet and socialise with other children at private or mainstream school.
