The period to which this report relates has again been foundational for the establishment of ARC GB. In the first half of the period, time and energy has predominately been spent ensuring that our systems, technology and practises

are functional and fit for purpose. Particular attention has been paid to the website, social media presence, and the ARC GB Dashboard, an online tool to facilitate the applications, training and transference of information between ARC and its potential church planters. The website, social media handles and ARC Dashboard are now all up and running effectively.

As an organisation ARC GB has relationships at the centre of all it does. Its aim to continue to build upon already existing friendships and relationships between ministers, churches and other Christian networks has continued to expand as well as ensuring that the operational aspects of ARC meet statutory requirements.

This second year for ARC has continued to see it grow in its relational connections and also influence across the nation with a continued emphasis on Hangout Days, which is an opportunity for like-minded pastors and perspective church planters to gather together for leadership training conversation and church planting inspiration. A larger platform for connection teaching and training through the form of a Lead Day was also launched to great success resulting in the first candidates for church planting now being processed into the ARC Dashboard model.

Arc GB is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and as such is governed by its Foundational Charitable Incorporated Organisation Constitution that was established on 1[st] December 2021

Trustee recruitment and appointment

There have been no changes to the trustees within the period to which this report relates.

Apart from the first charity trustees as outlined within this report, every trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

Achievements and performance

The main achievement of the CIO during the period was to launch the ARC GB LEAD Day which took place in September at Liverpool One Church, Liverpool.

The event took place on the 26th September 2023 where in excess of 80 Senior Pastors of churches around Great Britain, along with potential church planters were invited for a day of relationship building, teaching and training. The main idea of the day was to start to increase relational ties amongst other churches and networks as we raise the profile and awareness of ARC GB and state the vision and aims of ARC GB with a particular emphasis of church planting and wanting to collaborate resources in an attempt to further advance both the pace and quality of new churches starting out.

Hosted by the ARC GB lead team and invited guests namely Peter Haas and Nate Puccini from Substance Church USA, there was a wealth of church planting and building experience in the room. Both Peter and Nate have also travelled extensively aiding and assisting global networks get off the ground and launch effectively. The wisdom and insight they brought into the room was valuable and greatly appreciated.

The highlight of the day though was that ARC received its first official church planting application from a couple wanting to start a church in the south of England. Along with the worship, preaching and life applicable teaching, people left feeling inspired and encouraged and the feedback received was again overwhelmingly positive. Pastors and planters alike benefited from the low-key relaxed environment that was conducive for life giving conversation and relationships to build and fostered.

Now with all of our systems in place which include an operational website, social media presence and ARC GB Dashboard for the planters and also the establishment of the ARC GB bank account through provider NatWest, ARC is well positioned to start to look ahead for the future with excitement and expectation that more churches will be planted throughout Great Britain.

Financial review

The total amount of income and expenditure for the period was one thousand pounds (£1000) .

Reserves policy

The Board of Trustees has examined the charity’s requirements for reserves in light of ARC being a brand new CIO.

It has established a policy whereby the unrestricted funds not committed or invested in tangible fixed assets held by the charity moving forward should be between 1-2 months of the expenditure for the next financial period – duly being noted that this will be the organisations first financial period and funds will be required to be built up over the period once income starts to be received.

The reserves would be needed to meet the working capital requirements of the charity and the Board of Trustees are confident that at this level they would be able to continue the current activities of the charity in the event of a significant drop in funding, predominantly because as a startup operational expenditure is anticipated to be low.

The present level of reserves available to the charity of £1000. In the short term the Trustees have also considered the extent to which existing activities and expenditure could be curtailed, should such circumstances arise.

Future plans

In the following year the aims of the organisation are clear to the board of trustees.

We aim to continue building of the success of the local gather events called hangouts with the view of trying to also create an event in the south of England as all events currently have been held in the north. We would like to have a Northern Hangout event in either Q1 or Q2 of 2024 and then a further event preferably before summer in the London area with the view of building new relationships and connections there with other church Pastors and perspective church planters.

We also aim to create a second Lead Day event, a larger, mini conference style day based around teaching and inspiration focussing on church growth and health. This will again be held in Liverpool simply for operational reasons.

The main goal for the period would be to get a church planting couple complete the ARC Dashboard and training model with the view of launching Great Britain’s first ARC church towards the end of 2024 or early into 2025 as well as increasing the exposure and brand awareness of ARC to ensure that as the organisation grows, other church leaders and Pastors know that ARC will be a resource available to them.

We will continue to build on the relationships that are already being established with the view of creating an invitation for ‘partner’ churches who will look to financially support the work of church planting throughout Great Britain.

The Board of Trustees will also seek to expand and build our relational network with other ARC church planting partners and organisations throughout Europe, especially as there is an increased desire to see church plants start on the continent also.
