It 15 Wlth great pleasure that we present our 2023
Annual Report, markin8 another milestone year for
Children's Aid. Two years since ourestab1ishment,
the organisation remains steadfast in it5 mission to
serve humanity. Grounded in our Islamic values
and driven by the trust of our generous partners,
donors, and 5UPPOrter5 frorn the United Kingdom
and beyond, we are deeply 8rateful to everyone

In 2023,1 had the honour OF being appointed
Chaif of Trustees, and, together with the senior
leadership team, we have been entrusted with the
responsibility of fostering a culture that embodie5
our core values while continuing to enhance our

This past year has been one o18rowth and

our strategic vision, we have started establishing

while there 15 still progress to be made, we are
already 5eein8 significant benefits and efficiencies

Although we face many obstacles, wo are Still on a path of growth. We
have worked Ford to establish and expand our operations both in the
UK and abroad, while Simultaneous￿ investing in and strengthening our
governance function5. This ensures that our operations a￿ monitored
effectively, resources are used responsibly, and both our staff and
benefickArvès remain safe.
The destructv)n and refugee crisis in Gaza have reached
unprecedented ￿e15, leavin8 families traumatised, exhausted. and
without basic nece5Slties. In response, Child￿n.$ Aid has quickly
mobilised to establish a 5UPPOrt network, delivering much-needed
food, ¥vater. and medical aid to the affected population. Similarly, the
ongoing crises itE Syria. e¥a¢erbated by the recent earthquake. have
caused deva5tstion acr055 the region.Through our partnership5 With
other humanitarian or8anisations, we have delivered life-savin8 5UPPOrt
to those impacted. We again responded to the devastating
earthquake in Morocco with hurnanitsrian aid and assistance to
affected families.
As we enter 2024, we renew ourcomrnitment to being the charity of
choice for our loyal donors. We are planning to expand our IT
infrastructure and web support team, extend our0￿r5e85 orphanage
support programme, k3unch an educational initiative for children, and
enhance our5kills training institute for young women. These
prggratntne5 are essential in fostering long term resi1￿n￿ and ¢reating
sustainable opportunities for communitl8s in need. By strengthening
our infrastructure, supportin8 vulnerable children, and eguippin8 young
wotnen with skills and education. we aim to lay the foundation fora
brighter future where individuals can thrive and build pathway5 Out of
poverty.
We continued our efforts throughout Ramadhan, launching appeals
and deliverin8 essential ration packs to Vulnerab￿ familie5 in
Bangladesh. Pakistan. and Kenya. These effort5 brought tnuch-needed
relief to those struggling with hunger and uncertainty, ensuring they
had the ne￿$Sary food supplies during the holy month. Our team
worked t1￿1￿$$1Y to reach as many communities as possible. refle¢ting
our wmmittnent to SUPPQrting those in need and the genefOSity of our
donors who made this possible.
In the face of immense challenges, the selflessne55, resilience, and

combination of their own income generation initiatives (such as
grants and donations sècured in-eountry from public and
institutional dgnors and grant fundersl in addition to funding from
the United Kingdom main office derived from public fundraising.
The UK Office liaises with the local branch office staff to help
develop and monitor the progratnme activity. We operate in
Pakistan through a branch office and in Kenya, Bangladesh and
Palestine, through various partners where we do not have a country

HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMME
Palestine
In 2023 Children'5 Aid5 Humanitarkin Aid program provided immediate reliefto communitie5 affected
by crises. such as natur81 disasters, conllicts. and displacement. Ourfocus was on delivering essential
support. intluding food, shelter. medical supplies. and other ¢ritital restsurtes. to those in urgent need.
Through rapid response team5 and partnerships, we aimed to alleviate suffering, restore hope, and help
communities begin the path to recovery and resilience.
Supporting those affetted by the ctsnfiict in Gaza Children's Aid *4as proud to partner with IS￿mie Relief
and Human Appeal to provide crucial support to vulnerable communities in Palestine, followin8 the
conflict in Gaza. Through this collaboration, we delivefed essential serviees, includin8 food assistance,
heèltheère. and emergency $￿pOrt. aimed at allevklting the hardships faced by Famil￿$ in the region.
y leveraging the expertise and resources of ryjr partners, we aimed to create a more significant impact
by addressing urgent humanitarian needs. This collaborative approach allowed us to pool knowledge and

Support to earthquake victims and famili8s
Childrens Aid sUPPOrted the victitns and familiÈs
affected by the earthquake in Morocco. Our
program focused on delNerin8 relief. including
$helter and winter$￿PIle$. to those in urgènt
need. We worked cl95ely with local partner5 to
provide ongoing assistance, helping communities
relxjild their lives and rèstore hope in thè
aftermath of this devastatin8 disaster.

initiètive to provide warm clothing to vulnerable
children facing harsh winter conditions. This

Children's Aid continues to receive both restrict&d and unrestricted
funds. Restrieted funds arè either in the ft>rm of Zakat donations.
whi¢h are allocated in strict ¢(>mPlIan￿ with our Zakat policy to
support only Zakat-eligible indkrfiduals, or donations where donors
have specified their intènded use. such as for Orphan care or
livelihood support. These designated furKIs are managed separate
to ensure they are applied preciseW as donors have directed. helping
us maintaifi transpareney and fulfil the unique wtpose of each
¢ontribution.

2023 was another p051tive year for Childrens Aid. marking Its second
full year of operations with a strong financial performance. We
raised over £95.601 in direct domatioms. supplemented by an
additional £21,425 from Gift Aid contributions, bringing ourtotal

2022. Duiing this period, Children's Aid invested over £81.944 (up
