We were teamed with Bangalore Sabha to
engage in prayer meetings; monthly
discussions on various moral questions

**Jaya Rao**, June 2023 Speaker on the
Bhagavad Gita gave her annual talk to
members of the general public.
**Charity walk**, June 2023 A 5km walk that
took place in the Regent’s Park to raise
money for the Ganapathy High School and
Pre-University College.
**Annual Youth Hike, Yorkshire Three**
**Peaks**, August 2023 – engaging the youth
where 24 participants helped raise £3,230|

for the Ganapathy High School and Pre-
University College.
Konkarnival , September 2023: An annual
market-stall event in which £234 were raised
for two causes: the Trussell Trust (based in
the UK) and the Saraswat Education Society
(based in India). Each stallholder could
choose which of the charities the money
went to.
Musical Recital , October 2023 : Arranged
jointly with the Gowda Saraswath Samaj,
this event showcased Dr Ravindra Katoti on
the Harmonium and held at the Maharashtra
Mandal Hall, Dollis Hill Lane.
Diwali , November 2023 : Cultural
programme including dance, musical
renditions and skits in native language
(Konkani), before a dinner at which the
community could congregate. This is the
main event in the annual calendar where the
CSSUK community gets to meet. It was
organised jointly with the Gowda Saraswath
Samaj.
Heritage tour : Organised jointly with the
Chitrapur Heritage Foundation (USA), this
tour for youngsters to visit India to learn
about important landmarks and the history of
our community. It was self-financed by the
participants.
Vantiga remittance : £10,243 was remitted
for the Indian financial year ending
31/3/2024 to the Shri Chitrapur Math for
running its institutions, temples, salaries of
temple staff, providing food to devotees and
other religious and charitable causes under
the aegis of the institution.

events. The highlight was the Heritage Tour
for the youngsters. Then events allowed the
members of a relatively small diaspora to
maintain its community spirit and reminded

Review of the charity’s Para 1.21 Our main source of funds in FY2023 has
financial position at the end been membership fees, donations and

the CSS UK events. We use the entrance
fees and general funds to subsidise event
costs and hold a small, restricted fund to
subsidise future activity costs.
Most of the entrance and activity fees is
applied to running the events and making
donations. With the main costs incurred
being cost of activities, food costs and
donations.
In addition, Vantiga contribution of £10,243
was collected from individual contributors
and remitted to the Shri Chitrapur Math,
India as Vantiga.
We have a net reserve of £10,577 which has
been built over several decades of CSS UK.
