Chairman's AGM Report- 2024 dcome to the Stradbroke Sports & Community Centre's 2024 Annual General Meetin& Tonight we be rffappiDg our higlLS and lows, our fwancials and saying a fond farewell to some aod a rnoundlng wdcome to others. have to say it has been a bit of a roller coaster year, but l thlnk we have been eftective In maintaining and imprnving the condition and fa(iities of the building in part achievable by the generosity of our Local MSDC Councillor (Anders Linder). some lovely & willing volunteer3, Ilwstees & local craftsrnen such as Ron RankiD & Thll BrnleT~ Thank you all. e tiied weral things varyin8 amounts of success: Sunday Evenin8 Club Room Bar ceased io operate when the Ivy House rethopened. The ChildTrn's clnema somehow seemed not to draw in the audience we needed. but we will try a8ain later in the year. Thursday Pizza Nighi got off to a slow start and didn't make enough for the providers to consider continuing the service. We held a Ceilidh that was a lot of fun bui we dld noi Ver our costs. we were asked to rnnove our belongings frnm the community shed as we did not fit the user profde, we discovered subsidence in the Club Room, we had an HGV damage the Club Room Roof and just to make sure were kept busy, Ihe buildlng was Struck by Ilghtenlng damaglng our hea8 sysiem. Blue-Tboth rnelver and audio system...thffi the drains were found to be blo(ked - Other than that we re in good shapel e did have some successes though: we had a Scrap Metsl collection that up pw quickly the Monday Choir practice has prnved a major succe55 as has the new Yoga class the Club Room was completley transfomed frnm a 5¢amIng pink to a very peaceful calming environment 5Uitable for any occasion. Our Ladies & Gents Wcs underwent a major fit and wOlAt look oui of place In a boutique hotd. Fressingfield Oily Rag Club held a raLL 1Y with 3 race car simulaiors vknich was a lot of fun, talking of which Trtvor. h¢ eyes & E3 of Stradbrokew had a birthday party attended by half the village it seemed and it took 2 days to rnsiock the barl The equipment we removed frnm the Communlty Shed was shared amon8$1 the Junlor and Hlgh S(hools so thry stlll availabk for the benefit of the community. olng forward. These wonderful spaces are maintained by us for you. and we would like to see you all enjoy them now. and contiDue to enjoy them in the future.
