The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is also not required as the CIO was not operational and had no banking facilities in the year ended 31[st] December 2022. NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2022

Summary of the main activities

This is the Trustee Report and Annual Accounts for the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Although the CIO (1196830) has been registered with the Charity Commission, we cannot start operating as a CIO until we have a new bank account. This will happen in 2023, so all the activity is currently going through the existing charity (1134489). Therefore, there is no activity in 2022 and there is nothing to report in the financial year ending 31st December 2022 for the CIO.

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period

General & Designated Funds £0 Restricted Funds £0 Bank Account £0

The Charity held no investment assets during this financial period.

Trustees and other related parties

No payments were made to trustees or any persons connected with them during this financial period. No transactions took place between the organisation and a trustee or any person connected with them.

Public Benefit

The Charity acknowledges its requirement to demonstrate clearly that it must have charitable purposes or ‘aims’ that are for the public benefit. When the CIO becomes operational in 2023, details of how the charity has achieved this will be provided in the Trustees' report. Maybridge Community Church currently operates as a charity (1134489) and the details of how the Trustees pay due regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit, before deciding what activities the charity should undertake, are contained in those charity accounts.

Post Balance Sheet Events

The CIO was not operational and had no banking facilities in the year ended 31[st] December 2022. All activity was in the charity (1134489) for which separate accounts have been produced. In 2023 a bank account was opened and all activity will be transferred from the existing charity (1134489) to the CIO (1196830), this includes staff that will all be transferred over to the CIO using TUPE. A vesting document will transfer all the assets, including the cash and buildings, to the new CIO. This was started in 2023, but is not expected to be totally completed until early 2024.
