## **KESWICK IN WALES CONVENTION TRUSTEES REPORT**

## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023**

## **Achievements and Performance during the Year**

We are thankful to the Lord for His blessing on our meetings at the Pavilion in Llandrindod Wells during week commencing 31st July 2023. The Lord was very gracious to those who were there and fellowship was, as usual, a great blessing in the Lord. We are thankful for the blessing of being able to “stream” our meetings live over the internet, but the greatest blessing is to meet with the people of God face to face. We plan to continue to stream our services for those who are unable, for whatever reason, to attend physically.

The morning Bible Readings were taken by Rev Alasdair Macleod from Inverness, on the early chapters of John’s Gospel – deep and Christ exalting. In the evening sessions Rev Paul Mallard preached from four different Psalms – very encouraging and challenging.

On Tuesday afternoon our “Coffee, Cup Cakes and Chat Session” included an interview with Roger Pomeroy from Cardiff, who had been a missionary in Pakistan for many years. He came home for “retirement” and now is part of the Open Air Mission, preaching in the open air particularly in the Valleys.

On Thursday afternoon Rev Chris Rees gave us a stirring message on the Second Coming. During the week we also had mission reports from Messianic Testimony, Zambesi Mission and FEBA. The Bookstall, for the first time, was provided by Anne Newman of Purple Tulip Christian Literature Ministry and was greatly blessed with quality books etc.

The children’s work was ably led by Megan Stone of Child Evangelism Fellowship

There was a prayer meeting at 9.30am every morning led by the chairman, who urged those attending to take God’s precious promise to the Throne of Grace and plead with our heavenly Father to have mercy upon us in these dark and dismal days.

As usual there was precious fellowship between meetings. We give the Lord all the praise and honour.

## **KESWICK IN WALES CONVENTION TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023**

## **Financial Review**

Total income for the year was £44,963.30 and expenditure was £29,376.87, resulting in a surplus of £15,586.43 for the year. Bank balances as of 31st December 2023 totalled £15,586.43, with £12,304.64 in the CAF Cash Account and £3,281.79 in the CAF Gold Account.

## **Plans for Future Period**

As we move forward to the 2024 Convention, we are planning to meet at the Pavilion Llandrindod Wells between Monday 28th July and Friday 1st August 2024.

Our expected speakers are Rev. John Macleod from Allander Evangelical Church in Milngavie who will be delivering our Bible Readings each morning, and Rev. Ali McLachlan from Grace Baptist Church in Edinburgh who will be our evening preacher. On Thursday afternoon, Dr Eryl Davies from Heath Evangelical Church in Cardiff will be preaching.

## **Trustees Responsibilities**

The Charities Act 2011 requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and the surplus of the charity for that period. In preparing the financial statements the trustees are required to:

- Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently

- Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

- Prepare financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the trust will continue in existence.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Approved by the Trustees on 10 October 2024 and signed on their behalf by John Mitson, Trustee
