The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024.

Our Aims and objectives
To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing women from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those women who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.
For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one of more of the following factors:

unemployment;
-
financial hardship;
-
youth or old age;
-
ill health (physical or mental);
-
substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs;
-
discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender reassignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown;
-
poor housing (that is housing that does not meet basic habitable standards;
-
crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitating into society).
The promotion of racial harmony for the public benefit by:
a) promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between different racial groups;
b) advancing education and raising awareness about different racial groups to promote good relations between persons of different racial groups;
c) working towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race.
Responsibilities of the Trustees
Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of the affairs of the charity as at the balance sheet date and of its incoming resources and application of resources, including income and expenditure, for the financial year. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees should follow best practice and:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
-
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is not appropriate to assume that the company will continue on that basis.
The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 1985. The Trutees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

For the year ending 31 March 2024 the charity was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. The trustees have not required the charity to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
