## **Achievements and Performance** 

SORP reference The charity has this year consolidated reducing the number of events mainly due to a reduction in volunteers although during the year two new Volunteers joined the team. Summary of the main achievements of the charity, The charity again succeeded in achieving a identifying the difference the Para 1.20 number of its aims over the reporting period. Funds charity’s work has made to the raised have again been used to support the circumstances of its beneficiaries provision of a free Christmas lunch for elderly and any wider benefits to society residents of the village, where they have been able as a whole. to enjoy valuable social interaction. This is the fourth year that the charity has been able to support such an event both financially and members helping to serve and clear food and drink. 



The summer picnic did not have a key theme unlike the previous two which were to celebrate the King's Coronation and Queens Jubilee, locals were invited to a picnic where food was provided for the elderly and those who were in need. This brought the community together to enjoy the afternoon with food, games and activities and this has now been adopted to be a permanent date in the Gala events diary. The charity also hosted other festive activities to raise funds and bring the community together which included a Christmas Fair, Santa Parade and quizzes during the reporting period. These events have grown in numbers and the public participation seeing many families out and about in the village over the relevant periods. These events promote the charity's aims and purposes of developing mental and physical capability through leisure time activity. Frustratingly the largest event being the Summer Fete which usually attracted approximately 1000 people from the local community and further was significantly affected by the weather. The reduction in numbers meant that the profits for the Gala’s main fundraising event were dramatically lower than previous years' events. It continued to meet our charity aims while also promoting other local businesses and charities but was the main reason for the charity this year making a loss. Although financially the charity was not profitable for the year a large proportion of the losses were due to assets being purchased for future events, these assets will make future events more profitable and aid members to put these on. The charity have succeeded in keeping a year’s worth of outgoings while also paying in advance a number of larger invoices for the Summer Fete 2025 in advance.
