## **Objectives and activities** 

## **Purpose** 

To provide the education of pre-school children in Criccieth and surrounding areas through the medium of Welsh. 

## **Activities** 

Provision of early years education to children aged two until they start school after their fourth birthdays. 

Raising funds to buy resources to ensure the continued development of the children and to fund core costs. 

Encouraging parental involvement in fundraising and the Cylch management committee to ensure upkeep and future of the Cylch. 

## **Charity Commission** 

In line with guidance issued by the Charity Commission, trustees are aware, and apply, the guidance in relation to public benefit of the Cylch regarding its stated purpose. 

## **Contribution made by volunteers** 

All parents and the wider community are encouraged to be involved in fundraising towards the upkeep and future of the Cylch. 

## **Achievements and performance** 

Working with the community and parents as well as other supporters to raise funds for equipment and other resources to improve the positive educational learning through play using the medium of the Welsh language. We ran online auctions, raffles, sponsored events and Xmas events. 

Made good use of grants to improve the resources. 

Invested in the staffing team to recruit new staff and change staff roles to meet demands, in particular in providing additional needs wherever needed. 

Supporting parents to access work utilising the government 30 hours grant schemes and access funding toward childcare costs. 



## **Financial review** 

The charity is solvent, showing a small surplus for the year. 

We are aware and monitor closely that our rolling 12 month turnover may possibly reach the requirement to register for VAT at some point next year. 

Currently we do not hold a separate amount of reserves. This has not been possible in previous years but it is something which we may do in the future. 

## **Additional information (optional)** 

The charity’s principal source of income are fees from parents, government funded grants and other grants, in addition to fundraising from the Committee of volunteers, parents and the wider community. 

## **Structure, governance and management** 

The charity’s Constitution was adopted 29[th] April 1996 and updated 25[th] November 2021 when it became ICO. 

Type of governing document is Incorporated Association 

The charity is constituted as Incorporated Association. 

Trustee selection has been by voluntary and group consensus.
