Thi$ is the Projecvs 40 J*ar. From the beginning. as part of Rosehill Young Wom￿.$ Project through to charitable ststus in its own righL the BELS & TL has supFx)rted thousands of families wth baby and safety equipment. toys arml games, free grcwp sessions and supwl and advice on many issues. During the past ￿r, h8V8 seen many more families t#yrtyvlry baby equipment and joining the Toy Library in order to keep Ih8ir costs down. They also tell us that they are happy to reuse and recycle to lessen the environmental impact. Baby equipment arKI toys loaned by mulbple families, reduces the w8St8 of purchasing and dealing with the packaging of iloms that may only be required for a short period of time. We ara alw seeing families borrowing low<osl paty pxks, induding Sarger toys, that can be loaned for various special events and dressing up outffts that can be used for one off events. The loyE and games purchased lor children with additional needs In mind has had a huge Impact upon the children who hav8 borrowed them and we hope lo furthor develop this ryange. During the 40 years of its existence, BELS & TL has been managed by a volunteer Management Commlttee. The staff and management have a wealth of 8xpenence gathéred over the years and updated with continuous professional development. Thore are h¥0 part time Prr4ect SupFtst Workers. In additic￿. Th88e dedicaled local individuals are driven to support our ccffimunty, and Ihrough their Involvement, they share and develop thelr knowledge and skls. We have three Desynated Safeguarding Officers. one of WI￿ Is the Design81ed Saleguarding Lead. She 1$ a Trustee and ensures that all issues conceming the safety 8nd welfare of children and young peopbe and vulnerable adults who attend BELS & TL are prowrty deali with through policies, prwlures. administrative systems and training. Two new members of the Management C￿￿mittee (0￿ recenty becoming a Trustael have experience of govemance and policies from their day jobs. We are now undertakirMJ a complete ovethaul of all policies. The Iwo Safeguarding Policies (Adults aThJ Children l Young People} are raV￿ed every year. Othef polici85 have different timescales depending i)n their content. In the past two months. we have revlewed and u￿lated our Confidenliality and Data Protection P￿1¢Y and Equalty. Diversty and Indusion PrAiGy. The Whistleblowing Policy and Reffliitiment and Seleclion Policy are currently being reviewed. The BELS & TL ethos is that everyone we work wrth will be treated fairty and not subject to discrimination. We welcome the diversity of communities and organisations we engage with. All Oicies are read, understood and put into practice by Staff. Volunteers ar￿ Management Commrttee. The policies are working documents and dictate our pyactice.
