## **AEW Annual Report 2025** 

Wednesday Morning Prayer 6.30am on zoom continued weekly, 9 regulars with others who attend infrequently. 

The trustees met on zoom 4 times with an additional AGM on 16[th] June. 

2 in person meetings were held: one in Shrewsbury and one in Merthyr. 

Melanie and Andy continued to record weekly ‘Chats’ about the upcoming Sunday Gospel readings and posted them onto YouTube.  Viewing figures were generally in the teens, but reached 43. 

A mailing list of over 100 is held by the Secretary, though many people have now left Wales or have left ministry in the Anglican Church. 

Efforts to fill the vacant Trustee positions did not succeed. 

Plans for 2026: 

Continue with the Wednesday prayers, in person meetings and videos where possible, teaming up with EFCW for some events.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the year set
out on pages 2 and 3.
Respertlve responslbllitles of the trustees and the examiner
As the ¢harity trustees. you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the Charities A¢t 20111"the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Anglican
Essentials Wales accounts Carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my
examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. l Confirm that no rnaterial matters have come to rny attention
in connection with the examination which give me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
l. the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts did not accord with the accounting records,. or
3. the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content
of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fairf view which is not a matter considered as part
of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in
connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to
enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
