## **AEW Annual Report 2024** Wednesday Morning Prayer 6.30am on zoom continued weekly, 9 regulars with others who attend infrequently. The trustees met on zoom 5 times with an additional AGM on 11[th] September. 4 in person meetings were held: two in Shrewsbury, one in Merthyr and one in Lampeter. Attendance was variable, with the Shrewsbury events attracting the higher numbers. 3 ‘Afternoon tea’ zoom calls were held. Attendance had fallen and the decision was made to discontinue these events. Beginning in July, Melanie and Andy recorded weekly ‘Chats’ about the upcoming Sunday Gospel readings and posted them onto YouTube. Viewing figures range from the teens to 94. A mailing list of over 100 is held by the Secretary, though many people have now left Wales or have left ministry in the Anglican Church. Efforts to fill the vacant Trustee positions did not succeed. Plans for 2025: Continue with the Wednesday prayers, in person meetings and videos. ## Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Anglican Essentials Wales for the year ended 31[st ] December 2022 I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the year ended 31 December 2022 set out on pages 2 and 3. ## Respective responsibilities of the trustees and the examiner As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Anglican Essentials Wales accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which give me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 1. the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 3. the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
