Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 December 2024

2024 Trustees Report:

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102 published March 2018 – effective 1 Jan 2019).

Objectives

  1. The promotion for the benefit of the public of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation by all or any of the following means:

  2. (a) the relief of financial hardship

  3. (b) the provision and improvement of housing for those who are in conditions of need

  4. (c) the maintenance, improvement, or provision of public amenities

  5. (d) the provision of recreational facilities for the public at large or those who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship, or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities

  6. (e) such other means as may from time to time be determined subject to the prior written consent of the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales

  7. 2.The prevention or relief of poverty [or financial hardship] anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient

  8. 3.For the public benefit to promote the education (including social and physical training) of people in such ways as the charity trustees think fit, including by:

  9. a.Awarding to such person’s scholarships, maintenance allowances or grants tenable at any university, college, or institution of higher or further education.

  10. b.Providing their education (including the study of music or other arts), to undertake travel in furtherance of that education or to prepare for entry to any occupation, trade, or profession on leaving any educational establishment.

Activities

This year, our charity has been actively raising funds through a series of engaging and community-driven events organized each month. Our monthly quizzes at local venues have become a popular staple, bringing people together for fun and friendly competition, while also contributing to our fundraising goals. These activities not only helped us financially but also strengthened our engagement with the community.

The trustees have been an incredible source of support and dedication throughout the entire year, playing a pivotal role in the success of every event we organized. They selflessly gave up their time, attending planning meetings, volunteering at events, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Beyond their commitment of time, many trustees also contributed financially, helping to cover event costs and ensuring that each fundraiser reached its full potential. Their unwavering support and passion for our cause have been invaluable, and without their efforts, the charity simply would not be where it is today. Their hard work has truly been the backbone of our success.

Achievements and performance

One of the charity’s greatest achievements this year was successfully completing the development of a classroom for Yat Yat Elementary School in Urdeneta City, Philippines. The classroom, which can now accommodate 50 students, was a significant addition to the school and was warmly recognized by the mayor of the town, celebrated by both the school and the wider community. Throughout the project, we kept our supporters updated via our social media platforms, which not only helped grow our community but also inspired more people to donate and get involved with our cause. These achievements have highlighted the impact of our efforts and have brought us closer to achieving our mission.

The mission to Urdaneta, Philippines, not only had a lasting impact on the local community but also raised vital awareness about the educational needs of the children there. By building the classroom, we’ve helped provide these students with a better learning environment, paving the way for a brighter educational future. Our work inspired others to take action as well—shortly after our visit, we were thrilled to learn that an additional £5,000 was donated to Yat Yat Elementary by individuals who had heard about our efforts. This generous contribution will further enhance the school's resources and demonstrates the ripple effect of our mission in spreading awareness and encouraging others to support this important cause.

Financial Review

Income for the year has continued to steadily increase each month, due to the monthly events. These retained funds are held in cash as there are currently no fixed assets owned by the charity. All future funds raised will be dedicated to our new mission, which is providing medical equipment & renovating a hospital in Rukungiri, Uganda. We have partnered with Royal Berkshire Hospital Urology Department in this journey, where we will visit the hospital together and provide aid to hundreds of local people. Every donation received was carefully allocated to ensure the success of the project, from providing updated & relevant medical equipment to growing and expanding the hospital itself. Importantly, no funds have been used for anything outside of our charity’s events and the Philippines mission, ensuring full transparency and alignment with our charitable objectives.

Going Concern

The trustees have considered going concern up to one year from the date of signing these accounts. Based on a review of forecasts and budgets the trustees believe there are sufficient reserves for the foreseeable future.

Reserves Policy

As there are no financial commitments for the charity to cover, the Trustees agree a policy of holding nil reserves, other than the funds retained for distribution to projects in the next financial year.

RALLY TOGETHER Notes to the Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2024

1 Charity Constitution

The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered in England and Wales with the Charity Commission. Details of its registered number and address are shown in the Trustees Report, page 3.

2 Accounting policies

The principal accounting policies which are adopted consistently in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below.

a) Basis of accounting

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant notes to these financial statements. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (Charities SORP (FRS 102) second edition published October 2019) and the Financial Reporting Standard 102 (FRS 102 published March 2018 – effective 1 Jan 2019).

Rally Together meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.

b) Financial reporting standard 102 – reduced disclosure exemptions

The charity has taken advantage of the following disclosure exemption in preparing these financial statements, as permitted by FRS 102 ‘The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland’:

c) Income

Donation income is recognised upon entitlement. Income from charity events is recognised upon entitlement.

d) Expenditure

Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to make a payment to a third party, it is probable that settlement will be required, and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.

Allocation of expenditure

Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and allocated to the relevant activity. Where an expense relates to more than one activity it is apportioned on an appropriate basis as detailed in the support cost note.

Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year end date are noted as a commitment but not accrued as expenditure.

e) Debtors

All debtors are included at the settlement amount due.

f) Cash and cash equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts.

9

RALLY TOGETHER Notes to the Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2024

g) Creditors and provisions

Creditors and provisions are recognised where the charity has a present obligation arising from a past event that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a third party and the amount due to settle the obligation can be measured or estimated reliably. Creditors and provisions are recognised at their settlement amount after allowing for any trade discounts due.

h)

Financial instruments

The charity only has financial assets and liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial instruments. All basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and subsequently measured at their settlement value.

i) VAT

The charity is not registered for VAT and accordingly expenditure includes VAT where appropriate.

j) Taxation

The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.

k)

Going concern

The Trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity’s ability to continue as a going concern.

l) Fund accounting

Unrestricted funds are expendable at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity.

Further explanation of the nature and purpose of these funds is included in the notes to the financial statements.

m) Key judgements and estimates

The Trustees feel there were no judgements made in the process of applying the accounting policies that had a significant effect on the amounts recognized in the financial statement.
