The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006. present their report with
the flnancial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2023. The trustees have adopted the provisions of
Ac<ounting and Reporting by Chariti¢s.' Stst¢ment of Recommended Practice applicable to ¢hariti¢s preparing iheir
a¢¢ounts in a¢cordaDce with the Fitlancial Reporting Statylard applic4ble in the UK and R¢public of Ireland (FRS 102)

OBJEcfIvES AND AC'TIVITIES

The objects of the ¢hariry are ¢0 work towards ihe elimination of racial dis¢rirninatlOD and io promote eqyalty of
opportunity and good relations beiween persons of difftr¢nt ra¢ial group5. It &5 also to advance education to relieve
poverty and lo promot¢ good h¢Jlth within I￿lIgenOuS minorily communities and to advance the religions and cultures of
such ¢ommunities.

The establishment of a UNESCI>MOST BRIDGES Hub Jt the University of Wai¢s, pmvided the stage for THT
iaun¢h their groundbreaking collaboraiiv¢ project. Muhekan Masha in November 2022.
Munekan Masha was co￿leS1¥ned wilh the Kogi through their offi¢iai body. the Organisation Gonawindua Tairona
{OGT) in Collaboration with aCade￿ic3 and th¢ Trust. It's primary fo¢u$ centres OD land re¢ov¢ry and r￿tOratIon in the
Sierra Nevada de Satts Mana r¢gion and to restore the environmental balan¢¢ of the region. in litte with th¢ Kogi'5
ancestsxl knowledge aDd the val￿S of th¢ morevthan-human inter¢onnectedncss that are central to th¢ir worldview.
In April 2023, signifKanl philanthropic fvi)din8 was Secured from the Chantecaille CoTts¢rvation Foundation. a vital slep
towdrd realising the proj¢ct's goals. However, proje¢t negotiation5 faced unexpected ehallen¥es leading to ¢han8es in the
dire¢tion and scope of the proje¢l, which refflected the Kogi's evolving priorities and ¢ultural coJJcern5. tk5Plte these
effort5 ts adapi and align the project with the needs alld per5pective$ of the Kogi, the Chanteraille Foundation ultimaiely
Withdr￿ its offer offunding. This withdrawal pwmpt¢d a major rethinking and redesign of the proje¢L ￿ts1¢h continue5
to unfold in Close ￿llabOratiOn with OGT.
The ¢hAng¢s to th¢ projert w¢rr part of a broader effort to ensure that the values, con¢¢rns. and voices of th¢ Kogi
people were more fully incorporated into the design and implementation of Muntkan Masha. This proce55 involved
deepetting the collalx>ratiYe relationship between lh¢ Tn2st and the K0￿. as well as reafflrming a ¢ommitm¢nt to the
proje¢Vs goals, despite the setbacks.
In parallel to these developments, Ih¢r¢ w&$ 5ignifi¢ant governance change within the Trust oversttittg the proje¢t. On
Novembtr 30, 2023, Truste¢ Falk Parra Witle r¢signed. followed by the retirement of c.hair Alon Er¢ira a month later. In
January 2024. Luci Attala a$sum¢d the position of Choir, bringing a fresh perspective and leadership io the initiative.
ile Alan Er¢ira remained a5 a trusttc for a perÈod. he otYi¢ially resigned from the Board in May 2024, marking the
¢nd of his dir¢Gt involvement ￿1th the Tn￿.
Ih April 2024, both Alan Ereira and Luci Attala trnvelled to SaDta Mart4 Colombia, foT a crucial meeting with Kogi
mamos (spiri￿81 lead¢r5) and the OGT. This m¢¢ting wa5 pivotal in ¢nsurill8 the continuatiort of the Munekan Masha
proje¢L particularly in light of th¢ ¢hanges requ¢sied by the Kogi. ConStr￿¢bye disc1L￿lonS during this visit resulted in a
fimdamental r¢desigD of the projeGI, in whi¢h the KogL'5 cultural values, environmentsl concerns, and holistic view of
land st¢ward5hip w¢r¢ prioritised. The trip Tjot only marked a r¢airin￿atlOD of the shared cornmitm¢nt to the projert but
also fa¢ilitst¢d an official han<k)v¢r of the leadership tDle, fonnally re¢ognizing Lu¢1 Attth ¥s Chair of th¢ Trnst.
The ongoing redesign of Munekan Masha ullders¢o￿s the deep collaborative effort between the Kogi p¢ople, the Trust.
artd academics to ensurc that the project is ali¥ned with th¢ Kogi's vision for ¢nvironmentsl restoration and Cultyrdl
sust8inability. This r¢imaginin8 of the project highlights the Challenges and reward5 of working in Close partnership with
Indigenous commuDities, who bring valuable perspe¢tives on tnterconne¢tedness and ¢¢ologi¢al wisdom to the tabk.
Movin8 forward, th¢ Munekan Masha proj¢¢t will contittue to be a core focus of the Tnk%i amon8St its other itkitia¢iv¢&
Mor¢ov¢r, the Kogi and the Trust will work trigether to secure the n￿e$S3ry resource5 and refJth¢ th¢ project'5 Vj5ion,
cnsuring it r¢m*ins resportsive fy) IM)th environmenral imperatives and the needs of th¢ Indigenous communities invohTed.
