I trust that you are all in good health. Our recent change from Ummah Charity International to Al-Wahab Foundation was a creative decision to revitalise and strengthen our identity to leave a lasting impression. After much deliberation and thought, it was decided that we will change the name of our charity to improve our organisation further. I would like to emphasise that this rebrand has not changed the heart of our mission and with your support, we will continue to work towards our objectives.

Rest assured that you can rely on our commitment to serving humanity as we remain dedicated and resolute to the same causes you entrusted us with. By transitioning the name to Al-Wahab Foundation, we aim to establish a unique identity to supporters like you.

Our endeavour to alleviate suffering and empower those who are marginalised through implementing sustainable development initiatives is guided by our vision of a world where every person has access to necessities; we strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. With the utmost gratitude to Allah (SWT), AWF is a transformative and flourishing organisation. We have made remarkable strides in assisting those who require aid. Our capacity to address crises has significantly improved in effectiveness with the initiative aimed at fostering long-lasting change.

The year 2023 has brought various challenges for people worldwide, with the cost-of-living crisis further exacerbating existing issues such as inflation and unemployment. Despite these adversities, Al-Wahab Foundation has continued its efforts to serve humanity. Through the work of our incredible team and the generous contributions of our supporters, AWF reached new heights throughout the year by transforming lives through Rozgar, Women Empowerment Projects, and feeding those in need. It is my honour to lead this organisation in presenting our annual report. With your continued support, AWF will continue in its objective to work towards a future liberated from poverty and affliction. We envision that AWF's growth will continue and hope to extend our reach to new regions across the globe.

Introducing Al-Wahab Foundation

Al-Wahab Foundation is a charitable organisation dedicated to serving humanity through various initiatives. Led by chairman Mufti Abdul Wahab, Al-Wahab Foundation is committed to assisting those in need, regardless of race, nationality and gender. The foundation operates to alleviate poverty, providing emergency relief during crises, supporting education and healthcare and promoting sustainable development in communities worldwide. Through partnerships and loyalty of donors, Al-Wahab Foundation strives to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities facing adversities.

Since 2014, the Al-Wahab Foundation (previously Ummah Charity International) has worked to deliver emergency and developmental aid in third-world countries to help combat poverty.

At Al-Wahab Foundation our mission is to address the root causes of poverty by ensuring that every individual in our society can earn a stable livelihood to support their needs and that of their family. With your donations, we provide solutions that meet basic and immediate needs such as food, clean water, and healthcare, supporting people in crisis.

Following Islamic values, we believe that serving humanity can not only make this world a better place to live for everyone but also can be a source of reaping multiple rewards in the world hereafter. Guided by this vision, we have curated the following values for Al-Wahab Foundation:

Partnerships that empower AWF’s initiatives

At Al-Wahab Foundation, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change. Our partnerships are not merely transactions; they are bridges that connect us to communities in need, allowing us to really make a positive difference in people's lives. These partnerships exemplify our commitment to making a lasting impact through our projects which are aimed at serving humanity. By working together, we hope to show members of the public the true beauty in community and that we can all work together to create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

Hope for Southall Homeless

In Dec 2022, our collaboration with Hope for Southall Homeless proved beneficial in providing 50 winter kits, offering warmth and comfort during the coldest months of the year in the UK to those in need.

In April 2023, partnering with My Yard Charity, we focused on aiding those in need. From Oct 2022 to Sept 2023, we delivered 1,245 cooked meals, plus 50 essential bags in May 2023, addressing those facing hardships.

Bilal Masjid Youth Club

In Sept 2023, AWF joined hands with Bilal Masjid Youth Club to extend a helping hand to the community. Together, we provided 300 nutritious meals, demonstrating our dedication to supporting humanity.

From Oct 2022 to May 2023, our collaboration with the London Community Kitchen served a total of 1,564 cooked meals, ensuring that no one in our community in the UK goes hungry including the homeless.

Help the Needy Charitable Trust is the implementing partner of Al-Wahab Foundation in Pakistan. The Trust has impacted over 800,000 lives since 2010 through various projects contributing towards community development and emergency relief aid.

Restoring Lives in Turkiye: Azra’s Warm Gratitude

My name is Azra, and I reside in Hatay with my family. Our lives were turned upside down by the natural disasters that struck our city. We lost our home, our belongings, and our means of income. Providing for my children became an overwhelming challenge, as we struggled to find food, clean water, and other necessities. It was a time of immense uncertainty and fear for our future. We are deeply grateful to the Al-Wahab Foundation and Mufti Abdul Wahab for their understanding and support during this difficult time. The Emergency Relief Package they provided has been a true blessing for my family. It gave us access to essential food, clean water, and hygiene supplies that were hard to come by after the disaster. I am thankful to Almighty Allah that we still have got kind people like Mufti Abdul Wahab and the dedicated team of Al-Wahab Foundation to help suffering families in bringing ease to them.

I have been working as a laborer for many years now. The income in this field is uncertain, leading to instability for most workers’ families. During Ramadan, when we aim to concentrate on fasting, our focus shifts to arranging meals for the kids due to the unpredictability of our earnings. These fluctuations are a part of our life. I want to express my gratitude to Mufti Abdul Wahab, Al-Wahab Foundation, and everyone who contributed to this noble cause. Your generosity has allowed us to have a peaceful Ramadan without concerns about iftar meals. My name is Taza Khan. I live in Vehari Colony and we are 20 family members. I have been facing trouble with my eyesight for a long but couldn't afford to get it checked. Al-Wahab Foundation organised a free eye camp in our area. It was the best opportunity for me as we could hardly make ends meet for the family. So, I got myself checked after examination, the doctor referred me for eye cataract surgery. I am thankful to Al-Wahab Foundation and Mufti Abdul Wahab for serving us all with free of cost treatment. Emergency relief action: A year in review

In the face of adversity, the Al-Wahab Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, providing swift and effective emergency relief to those affected by disasters and conflicts worldwide. Our emergency relief efforts aim to alleviate immediate suffering, restore dignity and foster resilience amongst those affected.

Throughout the past year, Al-Wahab Foundation has been at the forefront of humanitarian response, delivering life-saving aid to vulnerable populations across the globe. Al-Wahab Foundation continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals, offering vital assistance when needed most.

Earthquake appeals

In early February 2023 , the world bore witness to utter devastation as a series of major earthquakes struck Turkiye near the border with Syria. Tragically, over 51,000 people have lost their lives, trapped beneath collapsed buildings in what has been characterised as the worst natural disaster in decades.

Emergency Relief Action: A Year in Review

With your support, we provided vital food packs and cooked meals to those who lost everything.

Your generosity has brought hope and sustenance to those grappling with such immense challenges. Your speedy response allowed us to deliver 366 food packs , 1,000 cooked meals , 200 Iftar meals , and cash vouchers of £1,250 to 4,596 beneficiaries to help assist those affected by the crises in Turkey. These packs contained rice, cooking oil, bulgar rice, soup, sugar, pasta, tomato paste, salt, tea, flour etc.

On the 8th of September 2023, the magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Morocco causing mass deaths in mountain villages that have collapsed in on themselves. A magnitude 4.9 aftershock hit 19 minutes later. According to official figures, the death toll stands at nearly 3,000 people and more than 5,600 reported injured.

The aftermath of the earthquake has resulted in a shocking 500,000 people being internally displaced, living in constant fear of devastation, particularly as the threat of landslides looms large in the aftermath of the earthquake. Your generous donations have helped AWF distribute 480 food packs to 2,880 beneficiaries , which have been instrumental in assisting those who require them. These packs consisted of Wheat, Oil, Milk, Honey, Juice, Sugar, Lentils, and more.

Water for Life

At Al-Wahab Foundation, we recognise the critical importance of water in sustaining life and promoting health and well-being. Hence, we are committed to implementing projects that provide clean water to those communities in need. Access to clean water is not merely a matter of convenience; it is a matter of survival. Contaminated water sources and lack of access to water can spread diseases and lead to illness, particularly among the vulnerable, such as the elderly and children. By providing clean water, we hope to prevent waterborne diseases and improve overall quality of life.

Pakistan's Water Crisis:

In the aftermath of recent floods, access to clean water remains a pressing issue in many parts of Pakistan. With an increasing population and pervasive poverty, Pakistan faces a profound water crisis. At Al-Wahab Foundation, our foremost priority is to ensure that marginalised communities have access to clean drinking water, safeguarding and preserving lives. Through our 'Water for Life' project, we have addressed the immediate needs of communities lacking access to clean water and the underlying factors contributing to water contamination. This includes the implantation of sustainable and systematically maintained water pumps and the construction of vital water wells in both households and communities. With your donations, we have been able to benefit around 9,250 people by building 37 water wells in Mirpur and District Ghotki. Additionally, we were able to supply 600 water pumps across various regions in Pakistan, like Kalhora, Deharki, and Khipro facilitating 15,000 beneficiaries. The water wells have ensured that entire villages can access clean water whilst also ensuring that families on the outskirts can benefit from the convenience of hand pumps. Our

Uganda Water Crisis:

Africa is grappling with a dire water crisis, which has resulted in vast parts of its population without access to clean and safe water. This scarcity has heightened the vulnerability of communities to waterborne diseases, particularly women and children. In response to this issue, particularly in poverty-stricken areas like Uganda, the Al-Wahab Foundation has launched a water project dedicated to providing sustainable water to those who require it. Your contributions to this new water project for Uganda have had a direct and profound impact on alleviating water crises and enhancing individuals' lives. We have been able to implement crucial water initiatives like installing water wells. Overall, your donations have enabled the Al-Wahab Foundation to help 1,400 people by installing 2 water wells through this initiative. This project has not only saved lives but also created opportunities for communities to thrive

Empowering Communities Through Masjid Construction

Masjid is at the heart of any Muslim community as it creates a sacred space where individuals can come together, pray, learn, and find solace. These instill Islamic values and foster a closer connection with the Almighty. In some rural areas, masjids often suffer severe damage from natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods. The idea of restoring these sacred spaces is sometimes an unattainable goal. Amidst the daily struggle for survival, finding the necessary funds and resources for building Masjids can be a daunting challenge, to say the least. Understanding this need, the Al-Wahab Foundation aims to bridge the gap by working in villages where Masjids have been completely demolished and reshaping the religious identities of individuals in these areas. With the generous support of our donors and the dedication of our team at Al-Wahab Foundation, we have made significant strides towards the construction of Masjids.

Throughout the year, our efforts have been geared towards fundraising, planning, sourcing high-quality material, and executing the building of new Masjids. We have also worked to make the process as collaborative as possible by cooperating closely with local communities to identify suitable locations and ensure that the Masjid meets the needs and requirements of the people it will serve.

From 2022-2023, we have built 19 masjids over the year in Pakistan, benefitting around 3,960 locals and 1 masjid in Uganda to facilitate 600 beneficiaries who now have access to a suitable prayer place. As we look ahead, we remain committed to further expanding the Build a Masjid project.

Our Eye Care Initiatives - Restoring Vision Renewing Hope!

Few gifts are as transformative and life-changing as the restoration of sight. According to the ‘Third National Survey of Blindness - 2019 to 2021’, as reported by Dawn News, Visual impairment affects 9,028,073 people in Pakistan, disconnecting them from the world. The problem is further exacerbated when such areas have limited access to hospitals and eye clinics, making them particularly vulnerable to such issues.

We believe that no person should endure preventable blindness due to poverty. In Pakistan, this issue is particularly acute since cataracts and refracted errors are the primary causes of blindness, afflicting thousands within the impoverished communities. Through our Eye Care programme, we strive to provide communities with essential access to treatment and education on preventing visual impairments and blindness. We cater to children and older people, hoping to offer sight-saving medical care.

Eye Cataract Surgeries

With cataracts being the world's foremost cause of vision impairment, affecting billions of people all over the world, the absence of healthcare due to the inability to afford treatments often leads to untreated blindness. Our surgeries are conducted in those areas where the most vulnerable individuals can receive treatment and care.

For those requiring eye cataract surgery, the Al-Wahab Foundation offers free-of-cost operations, serving as an organisation committed to preventing blindness. Your support has made a massive difference since we have completed 200 eye cataract surgeries. Alongside this, to ensure that those undergoing surgery have a stress-free journey, your donations to Al-Wahab Foundation cover essential expenses such as transportation, food, specialised surgical equipment, hygiene provisions and post-operative care, ensuring the restoration of eye health.

Your donations have been crucial in our global fight against preventative blindness. They offer hope to those struggling in poverty and transform lives through our eye appeal.

Eye Camps

Al-Wahab Foundation's eye camps offer free eye consultations and treatment to those in need. We use experienced and qualified doctors who examine patients, provide accurate diagnoses and prescribe necessary medications and glasses free of charge. By combining medical intervention with educational outreach, Al-Wahab Foundation aims to empower these communities to safeguard their vision and lead healthier lives by re-engaging with employment and daily activities. From October 2022 to September 2023, the Al-Wahab Foundation treated 7,433 people at 28 Eye Camps set up in Surjani Town, Organi Town, and Karnal Colony. In conducting these camps, we provided check-ups, prescribed medicines, and made referrals to hospitals where necessary if Cataract surgery was required.

Our Commitment to Maktab Support: Pathways to Knowledge

More than 280 million children worldwide are denied access to the most basic rights, namely Education. Typically, these children are forced into a life of manual labour and perpetuate a cycle of generational poverty. At the core of Al-Wahab Foundation's goals is finding accurate and sustainable solutions to poverty. One way in which we aim to do this is by facilitating access to Education for the disadvantaged who may lack Education due to financial constraints. The 'Support a Maktab' initiative offers Islamic Education to those children in need to provide them with the transformative learning and teaching they need to forge brighter futures. Our Maktabs offer a diverse curriculum encompassing secular and Islamic subjects, including English, Maths, Hadith, Hifz, and Tajweed. Under the guidance of qualified Qaris, these children can receive a holistic education that equips them

with the knowledge and necessary skills to thrive academically and pursue aspirational employment opportunities in the future. As it currently stands, our Maktabs in Burmi Colony have 300 students. The initiative is firmly rooted in our Islamic values, recognising the purpose of Education as a means of social betterment. We must ensure that comprehensive Education

is accessible to all. As a result, your donations have allowed us to play a part in breaking the chains of poverty and investing in the future of children by providing consistent and quality Education and also cooked meals on a regular basis. Our Maktabs have allowed children to be nurtured in a faith-led educational environment that stays with them as they grow.

Providing Wheelchairs For Mobility

Al-Wahab Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals who face mobility challenges. Our firm commitment to inclusivity, has inspired us to launch the Mobility through wheelchairs initiative. Our goal is simple yet reflective: to provide individuals with the means to move freely and independently, thus fostering their integration into society and the pursuit of their dreams.

Thanks to the generous contributions from supporters like you, we have been able to make a tangible impact on the ground. To date, we have successfully distributed 50 wheelchairs in Bannu, KPK, 25 in Khuzdar, Balochistan, and 25 in Rajanpur, Punjab to those in need across the suburbs of Pakistan. Each wheelchair represents not only a mode of transportation, but a symbol of hope and opportunity for those who may have felt marginalized or limited by their mobility issues.

However, we do not want our work to stop here. We are fully committed to expanding this initiative, reaching even more individuals who require assistance. By continuing to mobilize resources and support, we aim to make a lasting difference in the lives of those facing mobility challenges. Hence, your ongoing support will be crucial in driving our mission forward. Together, we can work to break down barriers, empower individuals, and build a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Delivering Food Packs and Cooked Meals -From Hunger to Hope Food Packs

12,700 Beneficiaries

According to the National Nutrition Survey, 2018, as reported by the World Food Program, 36.9 percent of Pakistan’s population grapples with food insecurity. The issue becomes particularly acute due to extreme poverty, unemployment, and rising inflation. Countless families face uncertainty about their next meal and depend on aid to survive. Hunger and poverty are closely intertwined. By tackling hunger issues, we hope that the Feed the Hungry project contributes to helping families break free from the cycle of deprivation. One food pack can support a family for an entire month, giving them essential supplies to prepare nourishing meals. The food packs include Rice, Flour, Sugar, Lentils, and Powdered milk. Al-Wahab Foundation's Feed the Hungry programme aims to assist communities across Pakistan by providing them with much-needed food assistance. Donations to the programme have allowed us to help 11,200 people by providing families with 1,120 food packs in both Hakeem Baksh Village in Dadu and Karachi.

Food insecurity in Uganda remains alarmingly high, with recent surveys indicating levels as high as 48 and 11 percent, according to the World Bank's August 2022 report. Recognizing the severity of this crisis, Al-Wahab Foundation is actively addressing the issue by providing food

packs to those in need. With the generous support of our esteemed donors, we distributed 300 food packs to 1,500 beneficiaries in Uganda in 2023. We are committed to further enhancing our efforts to reach even more individuals in need in the near future.

As mentioned, food insecurity in individuals, we address their urgent areas like Pakistan and Uganda has need for sustenance. However, it is also important to remember those struggling may need more means to afford basic Suhoor and Iftar meals during this sacred month. Al-Wahab Foundation's Ramadan Project aims to tackle the burden facing many Muslims by using donations and Zakat to help fund the project.

Due to the cost of living and the destruction of houses from natural disasters, it becomes difficult for people to observe fasting with insufficient food on their plates, meaning many may omit this obligation. Your donations towards providing food packs during Ramadan have made a significant difference to those in need, making fasting much easier.

The food packs include all necessities, which should adequately serve a family of 6 for the entire month. From October 2022 to September 2023, we have distributed 720 food packs which have helped around 7,200 during Ramadan in Pakistan, 200 in Turkiye served 1,200 beneficiaries, and 200 in facilitated 1,000 people in Uganda. Our Ramadan food packs included Flour, Lentils, Sugar, Tea, Oil/Ghee, Rice, Pasta, Cereal, Dates, Vermicelli, Salt, Spices, and more.

Eid Gifts, Fidya & Fitrana

Al-Wahab Foundation has also arranged for Eid Gifts to be distributed to 192 children during Ramadan 2023. The purpose of this project is to bridge the gap between those in the same community and reduce a sense of deprivation. We strongly believe that all children, regardless of background, should be able to celebrate the holy day of Eid in harmony with those around them. The gift packs include dresses and bangles for girls and new clothes and shoes for the boys. Alongside these efforts, your donations have meant that we have disbursed 285 Fidya donations to 2,850 beneficiaries and 1,820 Fitrana donations, which have been extremely useful for certain communities during Ramadan. With your continued support and donations, the Al-Wahab Foundation has improved and expanded its Ramadan efforts. We will continue to strive to develop our initiatives and positively impact the lives of those in need.

The Grand Eid Fair Gala 2023 was held at Horsenden Hill Activity Centre in Greenford on the 23rd of April. This event was based on promoting the message of positivity and coming together for noble causes while encouraging greater involvement from donors in serving humanity. The Grand Eid Fair Gala provided a vibrant and inclusive space for individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together and celebrate Eid festivities in a meaningful way. With various activities and stalls around, the event offered something for everyone, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all attendees. This event provided a platform to showcase the impactful work of the

Al-Wahab Foundation in various areas that help transform lives for those in need. The attendees had the opportunity to engage with AWF representatives and learn more about the projects AWF has been working on continuously for years to bring betterment to life. Chairman AWF, Mufti Abdul Wahab, along with his family, was present on the stall to meet everyone, demonstrating the commitment towards helping humanity. A dedicated team of AWF staff and volunteers responsibly carried out their assigned duties, contributing to the overall success of the event.

Qurbani 2023: Delivering Meat to the Less Fortunate

During Eid Al-Adha, Muslims participate in the act of Qurbani, following the footsteps of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) as a demonstration of faith and obedience to Allah (SWT). The days of Qurbani, falling on the 10th, 11th and 12th of Dhul Hijjah, allow us to fulfil our Qurbani obligations and extend compassion to those in need. At Al-Wahab Foundation, we buy livestock and transport them to impoverished areas, ensuring that the most vulnerable receive the benefits of Qurbani. Your donations to the Qurbani Project have allowed the Al-Wahab Foundation to reach 26,656 beneficiaries during this year. It includes meat from 178 Lambs, 14 Camels, 28 Cows, and 76 Goats. Our team meticulously select the sacrificial animals to ensure they meet Shariah guidelines for health and sustainability. On the day of Eid Al-Adha, we also oversee the

sacrificial process to adhere to Islamic principles. The meat from these Qurbani animals was distributed to Pakistan's locations: Malir, Burma Colony, Malik Goth, Sultanabad and many more.

Monetary Sadaqah: We provide crucial assistance to families in need through urgent Sadaqah cash funds. Your donations have allowed us to contribute to medical aid, school fees, food packs, livelihood support, clean water, restoration of damaged masjids, and support for Maktab Education. This project serves as a lifeline for those in immediate need of relief and has helped around 8,000 beneficiaries.

Animal Sadaqah Sacrifice: The act of sacrificing an animal for the sake of Allah (SWT) holds deep significance in Islam as it is a practice which symbolises obedience and gratitude, as exemplified by the Prophet (PBUH). Our Qurbani initiative, as mentioned above, the Al-Wahab Foundation, provided opportunities for those less fortunate to fulfil this sacred act of Sadaqah sacrifice by donating towards the purchase and sacrifice of an animal. In the past years, with the help of our donors, the Al-Wahab Foundation was able to facilitate the sacrifice of 7 goats and the meat from these sacrificial animals was distributed to 336 people.

Serving Humanity in the UK

Many people in the UK grapple with daily hardships arising from a cost-of-living crisis and unemployment. Amid such challenges, individuals who are living below the poverty threshold are particularly affected. As food costs increase, it becomes much more difficult for people to afford the basic necessity of nourishment. It can often feel like the odds are stacked against you when factors outside your control leave you feeling isolated and hopeless.

As a part of the Serving Humanity project, your contributions have meant that the Al-Wahab Foundation has been able to alleviate some of the burdens that have struck the UK by offering winter survival kits and hot meals to those in need. In collaboration with London Community Kitchen, we distributed cooked food to help alleviate hunger in the local community.

Additionally, the Al-Wahab Foundation is dedicated to addressing food waste and responding to food deprivation in the UK. Through our collaboration with My Yard Charity, we work tirelessly every Tuesday to deliver freshly prepared hot meals to My Yard Charity, where they are then distributed to families and individuals in need across the UK.

This partnership also supplies food and essential packages to those struggling to access an adequate food supply. Altogether, we were able to deliver a total of 3,109 cooked meals and 50 essential bags from 2022-2023. Apart from these regular projects, AWF distributed 50 winter kits collaboratively with Hope for Southall Street Homeless to assist those who are compelled to live on the streets. Al-Wahab

Your donations have meant that we have been able to offer transportation to people that will help generate income for them and their families. During this year, the Al-Wahab Foundation had the pleasure of providing 24 Auto Rickshaws and 50 motorbikes to the most deserving individuals in Karachi. This sustainable improvement method benefited 592 people in Tasier Town, Larkan, and many more areas.

Empowering Women to Transform Lives

Al-Wahab Foundation has been dedicated to empowering women by distributing and providing them with sewing machines. Our Women Empowerment project allows women to sharpen their stitching skills while gaining confidence in their abilities and offering them an opportunity to attain a stable income for their families. Our team organized sewing machines distribution in the suburban areas of Karachi, including Kalapul, Surjani Town, and many more. This year, with your kind donations, we have been able to provide 225 women with sewing machines, empowering them to pursue independent livelihoods with an effort to transform lives for 1,800 beneficiaries. As with all our initiatives, we ensure that candidates who are selected for sewing machines undergo a thorough screening process and are the most deserving applicants. Living in underdeveloped areas means that these women face particular problems if they venture out of the confines of the home and try to earn a living. By empowering women to become valuable contributors to their households, we hope to lay the groundwork for a brighter future for women.

Mufti Abdul Wahab, the Chairman of Ummah Charity International, has been engaged in philanthropic activities for well over a decade now. With a prominent presence as an Islamic religious scholar on both international platforms and social media, he has garnered an ever-expanding following. Throughout his journey, Mufti Abdul Wahab has consistently focused on bringing significant positive change to society. In 2012, he turned his vision into reality with the inauguration of Ummah Charity International (now Al-Wahab Foundation, driven by the goal of creating a more equitable, just society where no one is forced to live in unfavourable conditions. To achieve this vision, he closely monitors the charity's activities and, whenever possible, personally visits relief work sites to ensure the organization's processes are carried out smoothly and transparently. Mufti Abdul Wahab's dedication and hands-on approach have made a remarkable impact in realizing positive transformations within the communities AWF serves.

Aftab Ahmed, a devoted humanitarian and accomplished businessman, has demonstrated his drive and determination in building Euro Mobiles and Laptops into a successful enterprise. Now, he brings the same dedication and passion for serving humanity to Al-Wahab Foundation (formerly known as Ummah Charity International), aiming to create a lasting and positive impact on the world. Risk Of Governance:

Al-Wahab Foundation, formerly known as Ummah Charity International needs to ensure that proper governance structures and practices are adopted to reduce the risk of failure and can support the survival and success of the organisation. The board will regularly review the policies and procedures to ensure they meet the governance and operating standards.

Funding:

Al-Wahab Foundation does not have a fixed amount of income. In continuation of work, it will be absolutely dependent on the donations made by the public or other charity organisations. Projects are only initiated when the complete funds are available to cover the cost but an exceptional case where Al-Wahab Foundations has also set aside a portion of reserves to reduce the disruption in the event due to a temporary fall in donations.

Complaints Handling:

We have a complaints policy in place, and a complaint can be submitted to us either in person, by telephone, by email, or via our website contact form. Complaints will be dealt with per our policy. We strive to make Al-Wahab Foundation meet high standards and up to the expectations of our donors. All procedures and frameworks are reviewed regularly for improvement purposes.

Al-Wahab Foundation is reliant upon electronically stored data. However, the damage to our computer systems will not disrupt any of our humanitarian operations. When someone donates towards a particular cause or project, we make sure that we have the team and resources to direct your donation towards the people and communities who need it the most. We take your donations very seriously and make sure that every penny is spent correctly, for that all donated funds are monitored and reviewed by Mufti Abdul Wahab (Founder & Chairman), who ensures that Zakat, Sadaqah, and other funds are spent correctly. After the completion, detailed feedback on the project is sent to our donors. The Trustees confirm that they abide by the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit, complying with Section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit in pursuance of its objectives and activities. The initiatives taken by Al-Wahab Foundation left a deep impact and delivered a sense of well-being & happiness without compromising on people's self-respect. We have been playing an effective role in helping those who are in dire need. AWF has undertaken different projects over the years; some were meant to provide immediate relief, while others were meant to uplift the economic status of families. In either case, our efforts have proven fruitful and helped the beneficiaries in changing their lives and providing them with a chance to uplift their current situation. Ummah Charity International has undergone a transformative rebranding and emerged as Al-Wahab Foundation, equipped with a fresh and tailored identity that authentically mirrors its values and aspirations. This evolution is geared towards amplifying its presence and influence in the realm of philanthropy. Despite the inherent challenges of rebranding, our transition has been seamless, sustained by an effective marketing campaign and proactive communication with our stakeholders and donors to mitigate any confusion. We have been communicating in a well-formulated manner to inform and engage all stakeholders about the change, emphasizing continuity of mission and commitment to the causes it serves. The transition has been conducted with transparency to keep the trust of our donors and partners intact during the process. Al-Wahab Foundation, with a new identity, is committed to extending assistance across the globe, when and where needed to ensure keeping hopes alive for everyone.

Following this major change for a promising future of our organisation, we are following a strong investment strategy that ensures the effective utilisation of funds to maximize its impact and support its charitable activities. In-House Transformation & New Developments

At AWF, we strive for continual improvement in all aspects of our charitable work, including internal transformations. As we have emerged as a new and bespoke identity this year from Ummah Charity International, this significant phase marks our dedication to aligning our name with our values and vision, reinforcing our commitment to making a positive impact. Throughout this rebranding process, we are focused on ensuring a seamless transition for our donors and partners.

In addition to our rebranding efforts, we have been working through Icharms, our new donor management system. Integrated with the accounting software Xero, Icharms has streamlined the donation process and enhanced transparency by automating donor data entry. This technological advancement will enable us to operate more efficiently, ensuring that every contribution is effectively utilised for the causes we serve.

Our team has started expanding its scope of work to serve as many people in need as possible across the globe. For this purpose, our staff has been enhanced to look into various activities carried out under charitable objectives. With these transformative steps, we are further strengthening our commitment to creating a better tomorrow for those in need. Expansion Of UK Projects

From the achievements of our Feed the Homeless and London Community Kitchen projects last year, Al-Wahab Foundation has collaborated with My Yard Charity to assist more vulnerable individuals in the UK by distributing food packs, and cooked meals. Through our Winter Survival Project, we have reached out to many more homeless in the UK and provided them with essentials to cover them up during the harsh winter season in the UK. Moreover, we intend to collaborate with like-minded organisations dedicated to alleviating food insecurity among the homeless population. Our vision is to expand our outreach encompassing multiple towns and cities across the UK within the next three years. The interest and impact these projects have generated from our supporters have encouraged us to value this programme in the coming years.

Fundraising Activities

The organisation’s fundraising activities and funding sources are reviewed occasionally by trustees to ensure all known sources of funds are approached for financial support. It was mentioned that the idea and experiment of doing charity appeals through television channels were really successful and helped the charity to reach more audiences for awareness as well as for financial gains. The trustee's emphasis on setting up and regularly updating the just-giving pages so more people can be engaged in good causes The law applicable to charities in England and Wales, the Charities Act 2011, Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Financial Review

Income

All incoming resources are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SOFA) when the charity is legally entitled to the income, the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy, and there is a certainty of receipt. Donations: This comprises all incoming resources from donations and gifts collected directly by the charity and income from fundraising events/ appeals during the year. Gift Aid tax recoverable under the Gift Aid Scheme is recognised where there is an entitlement, certainty of receipt, and the amount can be measured with sufficient reliability. Where a claim for repayment of income tax has been or will be made, such income is included in the debtors’ amount if still not received by the year-end.

Reserves Policy

The beneficiaries of the Al-Wahab Foundation are communities from different backgrounds and cultures, the only thing common among them is "poverty and insufficient resources" most of them receive assistance and support from AWF on a regular basis as their economic conditions do not allow them to fulfill the requirements on their own. AWF's ongoing projects are a big hope for thousands of people, and any delay or obstacle in delivering the projects can awfully affect their lives. Therefore, trustees are in view that a minimum of twelve-month reserve would be necessary to run the programs smoothly and to ensure sustainability. The AWF runs learning, fundraising, capacity building and advocacy activities and programmes supporting communities and individuals. The AWF Reserves Policy is to maintain a sufficient level of reserves to enable normal operating activities to continue over a period of up to six months should a shortage in income occur and to take account of potential risks and emergencies that may arise from time to time. This policy will be reviewed at the Annual Trust meeting each year. The Chairman will present the Trustee Board with a draft document and supporting materials that enable them to make an informed decision about levels of Reserves and feeds into their approval of the strategy document and annual operating budget.

Review

During the year, the charity raised £ 940,098 in direct donations from the general public to carry out the programmes mentioned in the Statement of Financial Activities. Most of this was utilised in the year, and the remaining funds are in reserve for ongoing projects. The charity continues to work closely with a number of partner organisations in providing aid to the needy, and of the expenditure, £ 475,00 4 was spent with these partner organisations. The income tax recoverable from Gift Aid is used for admin and marketing-related expenses.

The trustees (who are also the directors of Alwahab Foundation for the purposes of company law) are responsible for preparing the Report of the Trustees and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice) including Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland".

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements

The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Income

All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.

Expenditure

Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.

Tangible fixed assets

Tangible fixed assets are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Historical cost includes expenditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the location and condition necessary for it to be capable of operating in the manner intended by management.

Depreciation is charged so as to allocate the cost of assets less their residual value over their estimated useful lives, using either a straight line or reducing balance method, as indicated below.

Depreciation is provided on the following basis:

Fixtures & Fittings - 15% Straight Line Computer Equipment - 20% Straight Line

The assets' residual values, useful lives and depreciation methods are reviewed, and adjusted prospectively if appropriate, or if there is an indication of a significant change since the last reporting date.

Gains and losses on disposals are determined by comparing the proceeds with the carrying amount and are recognised in profit or loss.

Taxation

The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.

Fund accounting

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.

Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.

Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.

Foreign currencies

Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the statement of financial position date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result.

Hire purchase and leasing commitments

Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to the Statement of Financial Activities on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.

Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits

The charitable company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the charitable company's pension scheme are charged to the Statement of Financial Activities in the period to which they relate.

14. RELATED PARTY DISCLOSURES

Alwahab Foundation has a contract in place with a Charity in Pakistan "Help the Needy Charitable Trust (HTN)". HTN assists Alwahab Foundation as a local partner to deliver their Charitable objects in Pakistan. Mr Aftab Jehangir who is a trustee in HTN is a brother of Mr Abdul Wahab who is a trustee of Alwahab Foundation. During the period Alwahab Foundation delivered projects of £376,012 through the assistance of HTN. All transactions are considered to be at arm's length.

Consultancy agreement is in place between Exactics Ltd and Alwahab Foundation to support day to day running activities. Mrs Zahra Shafiq Shaikh who is wife of the Trustee Mr Abdul Wahab has got a participating interest in Exactics Ltd. During the period Alwahab Foundation has paid total of £40,500 to Exactics Ltd for consultancy services.

FMS UK Services Ltd and Alwahab Foundation have a contract in place for support services required by Alwahab Foundation to deliver their projects internationally. Mr Fazal Mahmood Sanni who is a stakeholder in FMS UK Services Ltd also has a participating interest in other businesses of trustee Mr Abdul Wahab. During the year Alwahab Foundation paid FMS UK Services Ltd £21,030 and further £1,900 paid personally for the services rendered. All transactions are considered at arms' length.

15. FUNDS RECEIVED

The Charity change their structure from Trust to a Limited by guarantee at the start of this financial year. Name of the Charity was also changed from Ummah Charity International to Alwahab Foundation although the trustees and internal structure including objects stood same.

Alwahab Foundation has received total of £1,484,607 from Ummah Charity International as a donation at the start of this financial year. These were the fund balances which were transferred at the time of transition.
