OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

We are The Reanella Trust, a dedicated mental health charity focused on aiding young people to rebuild their mental health and resilience. Our mission is to provide effective, accessible mental health support and care, tailored specifically to the unique needs of young individuals.

Our charitable purpose is: to relieve sickness and promote and protect good mental health of children and young people aged between 6-24 particularly from BAMER communities by the provision of psychological intervention, treatment, and education.

Our approach is centred around the utilisation of our online platforms, breaking down traditional barriers to mental health care. We understand that factors like poverty, social injustice, and

discrimination can disproportionately impact young people's mental health, often leaving them without adequate support. By offering online psychological interventions, we make mental health care more accessible and less intimidating for young people.

The Reanella Trust is committed to offering comprehensive support, including wrap-around services in collaboration with local providers, mentorship programs, and both oneto-one and group therapy sessions. Our activities are designed not just to address immediate mental health needs but to foster long-term resilience and well-being in young people.

Our work is centred on providing a safe, supportive environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. Through our online platforms, we're able to reach a wider audience, ensuring that more young individuals have the opportunity to receive the care and support they need. By focusing on these crucial areas, The Reanella Trust is dedicated to improving the mental health outcomes of young people, helping them to overcome challenges and build a stronger foundation for their future.

The trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning its future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives that have been set.

The Reanella Trust conducts projects which enable young people to improve their mental health outcomes. This is primarily done online and through the introduction of mental health interevention and treatment by qualified and experienced professionals. The trust has conducted a phased roll out of Resilience, Recovery, Relief, a project which aims to improve anxiety and depression resulting from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Over the past year, The Reanella Trust has been actively engaged in delivering the Resilience, Recovery, Relief project across the UK. The project's aim was to provide essential support and resources to young people facing mental health challenges, promoting resilience, facilitating recovery, and offering relief to those in need. As an organisation committed to mental health advocacy and support, The Reanella Trust successfully implemented a range of activities and initiatives that made a significant impact on the lives of our beneficiaries.

Counselling and Therapy Services:

We provided confidential counseling and therapy sessions to individuals across the UK, ensuring access to professional support. Our team of qualified mental health professionals offered a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and work towards recovery.

Online Support:

The Reanella Trust provided online support services that remained available outside normal office hours, providing emotional support, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate resources. Trained volunteers effectively handled a significant number of online chat interactions, offering much-needed assistance and comfort to those in distress.

Workshops and Support Groups:

In the past year, The Reanella Trust has made significant strides in advancing our mission of supporting mental health and resilience among young people. Our dedicated team, alongside our committed volunteers, have worked tirelessly to make a tangible difference in the lives of our beneficiaries and society at large. The main achievements of the Trust during this period are as follows:

  1. Extensive Reach and Support: We have successfully reached and provided support to over 250 individuals who are on their journey towards mental health recovery. This achievement is a testament to our effective outreach and engagement strategies, ensuring that our services are accessible to those in need.

  2. Expansion of Access to Support: A major milestone has been our ability to increase access to mental health support through our digital platform. This innovative approach has allowed us to offer immediate assistance and emotional support to individuals, especially during times of crisis. It has been particularly crucial in reaching those who might face barriers in accessing traditional forms of help, such as geographical limitations or social stigma.

As a result, we have continually enhanced the quality and relevance of our support, ensuring that our interventions are aligned with the current needs and best practices in mental health care.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication and passion of The Reanella Trust's management committee, team, volunteers, and stakeholders. Our Resilience, Recovery, Relief project has not only delivered crucial mental health support but also expanded access to resources, raised awareness, and advocated for positive change in the field of mental well-being.

Through our focused efforts, we have made a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities. We are working steadfastly towards a society where mental health is not only valued and supported but is also a prioritized aspect of overall well-being. FINANCIAL REVIEW

Unrestricted income for the year amounted to £18,987, whilst unrestricted expenditure amounted to £13,084. This resulted in a decrease in unrestricted funds for the year with amount of £5,903 as shown in the Statement of Financial Activities.

This does not represent a call on unrestricted reserves, as the surplus of restricted funds is carried forward within projects that are currently active. Details of these restricted activities and funds can be found within the accounts.

The Trustees consider that the level of reserves held is within an appropriate margin of the minimum level as set, given the need to be able to respond to fundraising opportunities, and that the concern basis remains appropriate for

the preparation of the Trust’s accounts. The reserves policy is reviewed as necessary by Trustees and at least once a year as part of the annual reporting process. The Reanella Trust’s principle sources of funding are through grants and donations. The secondary source of funding for The Reanella Trust is through fundraising.

The Reanella Trust welcomes voluntary donations and engages in fundraising from the public. The Trust does not use professional fundraisers or commercial participators. During the year there have been no non-compliance and has received no complaints relating to our fundraising practices.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE, AND MANAGEMENT

The Reanella Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), incorporated with the Charity Commission on 17 November 2021.

The charity was registered with the objects and powers of the CIO and is governed under its constitution.

The Reanella Trust is run and managed by a Board of Trustees. Our trustees concern themselves with strategic planning, broad policy, and the review and compliance with governance. The Reanella Trust has three, unrelated trustees:

All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity. There were no trustee expenses reclaimed from The Reanella Trust.

Our trustees were brought on board due to their experience in the mental health field, organisational governance, financial management, and commitment and enthusiasm for the Trust’s charitable objectives.

The selection and appointment of trustees to The Reanella Trust is governed by our constitution and bylaws. Trustees are typically elected to their posts by the existing board, following a rigorous selection process that ensures candidates align with our mission and values and bring diverse, relevant expertise to the board. This balanced approach ensures a dynamic and skilled board, capable of steering the Trust towards its objectives effectively.

The recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of trustees are overseen by the board. New trustees undergo a comprehensive induction program to familiarize them with the nuances of our operations, our strategic goals, and the specific challenges and opportunities in the field of mental health.

All trustees are encouraged to participate in both external and internal training opportunities. These cover a range of topics, including the latest developments in mental health, charity governance, and the specific responsibilities of trustees. This continual learning approach ensures that our trustees are well-equipped to provide effective governance and oversight.

Our trustees play a crucial role in financial oversight and management. They are involved in establishing annual budgets and rigorously monitor performance against these budgets on a monthly basis. This oversight extends to the organization’s financial controls and systems, ensuring robust financial health and transparency.

The board also plays a pivotal role in reviewing and recommending approval of the annual financial statements. This includes the selection of appropriate accounting policies and practices, aligning with both statutory requirements and best practices. The trustees are also responsible for recommending the appointment of the external auditor and agreeing upon the appropriate fee, ensuring the audit process is thorough and impartial.

I, report on the accounts of the charity, which are set out on pages one to five.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(3)(a) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.

It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that:
