The charity's governing document is a constitution, which was established on 25th July 2021, with no subsequent amendments.

## **How the charity is constituted:**

The Sadaqah Jariyah Foundation is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO).

## **Trustee selection methods:**

Trustees of our CIO are appointed in accordance with the provisions outlined in our constitution.

- 1) Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

- 2) In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

## Additional Governance Issues:

## **1. Policies and Procedures for Trustee Induction and Training:**

Our charity makes sure new trustees understand their roles and responsibilities through a detailed induction process. New trustees undergo a induction process, which includes familiarisation with the charity's mission, values, governance structure, and legal obligations. Furthermore, trustees receive opportunities to take part in regular training sessions to enhance their understanding of their roles and responsibilities, as well as to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.

## **2. Organisational Structure and Network:**

Our charity maintains a clear organisational structure, with defined roles and responsibilities for staff, volunteers, and trustees. We operate within a wider network of stakeholders, including partner organisations, community groups, and government agencies, to collaborate on initiatives and leverage resources for maximum impact. This network enhances our reach and effectiveness in delivering our charitable objectives.

Trustees actively engage in discussions and decision-making processes to ensure that risks are managed responsibly and in alignment with the charity's strategic objectives.
