|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|In difficult economic times with many financial pressures<br>upon individuals and families, and against a backdrop of<br>limited financial resources available from governmental<br>departments, Sketty Foodbank has provided vital support to<br>those in urgent need.<br>In addition to emergency food we have provided toiletries<br>and household items and endeavoured to maintain the<br>dignity of those who call upon our services.<br>We have engaged with a number of support agencies<br>including health visitors, social workers, probation officers<br>and schools.<br>We have worked particularly closely with Swansea Asylum<br>Seeker Services, Unity in Diversity and local Councillors in<br>supporting refugees and asylum seekers.<br>When the Foodbank was initially set up, approximately 60<br>referrals per month were being handled. At the end of this<br>reporting period, there were nearly 400 made, with little<br>evidence of a drop in numbers anticipated.|
