disabled under the Equality Ad definrtion. Given that there is an overlap in ttwe
categortes. the number of elderly and disabled peop￿ in area of benefft is
8pproxImate￿ ￿0.
The current mrnitX￿ (a Peu￿1 Boxer) (2n cary up to 12 paS￿gers. Th
Capacity is 0ft8n reath&J t)n the lunch Club tn"ps. Demand Is somewhat variable
8nd unpredlctable. but the kwer di8tance Joumeys tend to be more popular.
Our services are advertlsed very1ts2Uy. for exam* monthly vluage ioumal
%thiGh is delivered to subsc¥ibing househokds. on noticeboards in the vil￿geS and
on th& Wrington Matters Fa￿l￿)0k page. to ensure that our Went'al benefiCia￿S
are aw8r6 of our seNices.
We also maintain the prrfile of the Mnibus Sc#iety locally and raise funds by
holding ￿ annual lunch In Ihe Vil￿e. Trie lunch held In July 2023 was attended
by over 100 people. It vras held in th8 garden of a w11ager and the catering
carried out entirely by w)lunteers. Most of the food cth¥ts were also covered by
donations.
An annual piize draw is hekl at the same time as the annual lunth.

test Iriennially and more drivers will reach this miknton8 Soon. A rota of trtps is
publlshed in advance each month and drlveys volunteer based thelr
av811abilty. Their cOntribu￿n ranges from a few hours lo a few day8 or part day3
each monlh.

Organlsatlon (CIO) was created to re￿ce it and was registered on 16 Nov8mber
2021. The CS0 VKS domiant untl 31 January 2022, beginning its adtNryties <)n 1
Felxuary 2022.
The assets. primanly cath and a Peugeot Boxer minibus, vRre transferred ffom
the original organisation on 1 Febn￿ry ￿22. Th8 transfer was f0m￿lly apwoved
by tNstees at the Annual Gener81 Meet'ng hèld on 22 May 2022 and by Deed of
Transfer dated 30 May 2022.
The Minibus Society received in¢orne of £10.508 in 2023124 (2022123 - £70,372).
Last yeaf s income was ￿USUallY h￿Jh due to an exceptional bequest of£82.203.
Excluding Iwuests. Ir￿me from other sources increased by £1,303 {1￿>. Far8
inrJ)me in¢Je8sed by 15%, rellècliNJ th8 increased pq)uiaiity of long8r trips ralh8r
than a higher number of passenws.
Exp8nditure In the Y￿ was £7.734, a fall of 10% ¢JNnpar￿l wilh the wevioug
year (2022123 = £8.625). This due to a fall in vehide sèrnrycing aThJ repair costs,
tyres and brakes having been replaGed lasl year. Repalrs this year were More
minor, induding re￿aang a broken roof gl8S$. 8 sliding door runner and a
damag￿ wing mirr(Y.
The main outgoing during the year va8 the payment in December 2023 of a
deposit on a new P8ugeol Boxer minibus. The deposit of £31,443.50 Vfas
cspilalised as 8 r￿ed asset. The Minibus Society is committed to pay the balance
of £43,300.90 to Courtside Conv8rsicn8 Ltd on deltvery of the minibus. which Is
expeded in De￿mber 2024.
The Minibus Sorjety reo)r(bd a sury￿U$ of QT14, vthich in17eased Un￿StriCted
rès8Nes to £133.899. The Gqsh balance decreased by £29,204 due to the
paym8nt of tha deposit for the new minibus. Tr ￿rr￿n9 value of the Current
Peugeot Boxer minibus (WX13 AKN) vras dew￿lated lo £3.345.
Purchase of new mi
Given Ihe age of the existing mirHlws {11 years) and its ineligibilty for the Bristol
Clean Ar Zone, a subWUP of Iruslees Yras tasked vrith Ic(Jking at minik)u6
r8plarAw£nt options in mid to late 2023. Opts'ons considered included:

the lack of maturity of the teL*nology, ￿Mited avauablity of sulteble vehides,
high cost r8nge limitations. and a lad( of availab￿ charging points.

The su&committee therefore re¢ommendgd Ihat the Minius SorAety should
purchase a new minibus vrith a manufacbjrefs Wdfranty and this was a¢cepted by
trustees.
Cost estlmates were obtain￿j from a small number of suppliers. The figura8
quoted were broadly similar varytng mainly according to choice of base vehicfe
and spècrfication. As a result, tru8tees decided to order a new mtnibus from
Court5Kle Conversions of ￿vertOn. This company has supplied the last tv
minitxjses to.Wringion Minibus SOc￿ty and it has also supplied anoth8r local
ommunity IranskK)rt group. CoLtTtside's geographical proximity is a potential
benefit shoukj any problems arise.
The trustees agreed on 4 (knber 2023 to purchase a mnibus from
Courtside lor the quoted prth of £62.887 plus VAT. and a deposii of £31,443.50
was paid to Courtside (m 7 December 2023. The ssxification indud6s 13 seats
arKI a hydraulic tall lift to albw stheelchair access. The exwted nv)nth of
delivery 18 December 2024 due lo the long manufathr1￿18ad time.

As a mIn￿num. the trustees consider it to hold suffi(4ent funds io o)ver
the r8plac8ment cost of the minlEyJs (estimated at £75.000 based on qwt8S
obtain6d in May 2023). and running costs for six month8 in the event of
unforeseen red￿11￿ in I￿rne (£4.000 based ￿ tunnirvJ costs in 2022123).
However gI￿n a replacwnent C5NSe of &10 years. Ihere is no wtainty that
following the first purchase, Su￿ent funds Y+Y)uid become avadabb in time to buy
th8 n8Xt mlnitrrtts. The CIO* Income k8 noM￿llY onty sufficient to cover (#￿ts.
unless an exceptional bequest És received. as OC￿rred li 2022123.
As such excapYon81 income is crf ￿urse not guaranteed. the trustees consider it
prudent lo holds funds up to the v8lue of the next tm) purthases {2 x £75.000).

and as pèr industry guidelines. the MFnitHth8 is inswted every 10 weeks by
Wrington Motors. and the hydr8uli¢ rear lift is serviced at 8-monthly intervals. The
drivers are also required to ￿)Mplete and record a pre4Jrfve bH￿tion ar￿ report
any issues for investigation and rnciification.
