Governan￿ and Manage￿￿￿ bekm). A Charitabk Incorp￿￿ Organisation
(CSO) was created to replace it arKI was reg￿red on 16 November 2021. The CIO
was donY￿nt until 31 January 2022, al￿ all firansactions reported in the
accounts of the chaiitth trl￿t uniil date. The CIO began its actsVIt￿ on 1
February 2022.
The assets, PTaThqrity cash aTKI a Peuwt Boxer minbus, vRte transferred from the
original OTganisation on 1 February 2022. The transfer values are sh¢y•m in note I
to the accounts. The transfer was fomiauy approved by trustees at the Annual
Genernl Meethw hekl on 22 May 2022 arKI by D￿1 of Transfer dated 30 May
2022.
The Minibus s￿ received income of £70,372 kn 2(r22r23, vthich was much
higher tsn our average annual income as a trust The increase was due to an
exceptional bequest of £62,203 from Dr Roger BeH. a late resKlent of Writwton.
The eXpe￿IllUre Ai the of £8,625 consisted primarity of vehith serviciThJ and
repair costs. including re￿ernert ty(es, brdkes. suspension amis and underside
panels, and f￿1 costs resultEng from the r8￿M to a fum pr(*JramTh of ￿rtingS and
the increased unit cost of fuel.
The Minbus Sodety rec￿ a sury)kts of £61,747, MTha8ed unreslrK￿l
reserves to £131.125. The cash balan￿ d(m￿￿1 fr￿ £64.185 at trarth to
£128,129 a year later. The carryttry vak* of ts Pthryeot Boxw nth*Ju5 was
depreciated to £4,181.

As a minimum, the trustees ¢Th￿￿18r it sensible to hold suffi¢>ent funds to cover the
replacement cost of the minlbus (estimated at £75.000 based on quotes obtained in
May 2023), arKI running costs ￿ six months in the event of unforeseen reduction in

However given a repla￿nent cyde of &10 years. there is no certainty that
following the fjrst purchase. sufftient funds would become available in time to buy
the next minibus. The CIO'S income is norn￿￿ only suffiaent to cover costs,
unless an exception￿ bequest is received, as occurred in 2022r23.

can be held for several years wding the purchase of the next minibus, we are
unwilling to accept the risk of loss of funds that invesbnerrt in stock maTkets would

Until reGentty interest rates have been very low. but as Iwe rates have increased
more attractive savings rates have beco￿￿ available, and the rate we CUTrentty
