|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|**RHS Northwest in Bloom**- Achieved<br>Level 4 Thriving<br>**Weekly Green Doctor sessions**<br>(Wednesday 1-4pm, Thursday 1-4pm,<br>Saturday 10am-1pm)<br>These sessions give volunteers a place to<br>come and relax with some gardening but<br>also to talk about their lives and any<br>problems / anxieties they may have.<br>We also had a night session to give people<br>who can’t come during the day to attend.<br>This was on a Wednesday evening 5pm -<br>7pm. We have 58 different volunteers<br>coming  to the centre across the 4<br>sessions.<br>**Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) 2021**-<br>Blossom designed recipe books given out,<br>8400, each containing 16 clear and simple<br>to cook, one pot recipes. These were given|





to HAF attendees to help people to understand about eating healthier and cooking simple recipes. **HAF 2022 - Little Green Boxes** - 750 of these were given out to children attending the summer activity at the Horticulture Centre, Wythenshawe Park. The boxes contained everything they needed to take part in the green trails across the parks. **Scheme Support Guide** - We created and designed a guide to Eating Healthy Food. We provided and delivered resources to 98 HAF schemes across Manchester. Information and advice were given at the same time as delivery. **Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate** - 47 staff members from Manchester schemes have requested to undertake the Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate **Weed and Feed** We invited 25 students from Manchester University to come along and help with weeding the horticulture centre. We gave them lunch and a chance to talk and be themselves. These were overseas students who weren’t able to go home for half term. **Eat Well Move More -** In partnership with Manchester Local Care Organisation, 10 week program working with 5 families from Benchill School. Cooking with parents with physical activity sessions for the children. **YouTube cooking videos** - We worked with a professional film maker to provide 28 cooking videos. These are easy to follow, simple recipes. These videos were to help those with poor reading skills  or people who English is not their first language. **Workshops -** Train the trainer - 24 attendees over 2 days Tomato Care - 10 attendees Forest Bathing - 5 attendees Growing in small spaces - 18 attendees Macrame - 10 attendees Gong Spa - 13 attendees Meditation and Herbal Tea - 9 attendees Foraging - 15 attendees We put on the above workshops and invited the local residents to come along and join in. We have had really good 



feedback regarding all the workshops. **Horticulture Centre Opening** The centre belongs to Manchester City Council (MCC) and was closed for 3 years due to pandemic. Local residents were keen to see it reopen but MCC did not have the resources. We secured funding from One Manchester to employ 5 local people to open the centre to allow residents access to this wonderful resource again. Since reopening we have had 3328 visitors to the centre. **Halloween** - As part of our commitment to the Horticulture Centre we held a Halloween event with activities, face painting with soup brownies available. We provided 120 children with their face painted, 190 portions of soup and 90 brownies. **Corporate Volunteering** Corporate volunteering helps companies to give their employees the opportunity to help out in the community whilst helping their own mental health. We have had 13 different companies bringing 305 volunteers to work within the park. They have helped with all aspects of the park and not just the horticulture centre. **Social media engagement** - 570 followers on Twitter, 198 followers on Facebook, 244 followers on Instagram and 33 subscribers on YouTube.  On average we gain a 5% engagement rate on Twitter, this is great as an engagement rate above 1% is considered good for small organisations. Our Facebook page has gained over 11,000 page views within the last year with 54% being from Manchester. On Instagram we have an average engagement rate of 10% per post, (a good engagement rate for Instagram is at about 3%). We have recently started using Eventbrite to facilitate workshops and events, from September we have gained 45 followers. We have made great progress in reaching our audience over social media and have clear plans on how to continue growing our digital presence.

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
