The Trustees present their Annual Report and the financial statements fof the year to 31 December 2022.
The 8o¥eming document of the charity is the Parochial Churth Council Powers Measure119561 as amended
and the Church Representation Rules that came Into force on 2 January 1957. It is registered as a charity
under Charity Commission reference number 1196545. The Charity is currently manage(1 by seven trustees.
The trustees confirm that the accounts comply wlth current statutory reqljirements and with the goveming
d¢xument.

St Catharine's Church is a thurch forthe people of HOughton4￿-th￿Hlll in Leicestershire. We are part of the
Church of England and follow Jesus in the An81ican way. We are a community of imperfect people from all
kinds of backgrounds united by Jesus Christ. seeking to live our lives for him and make a differen￿ to those
around us.

The oblertive of the charity is to promote in the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the church. There

incomè, including gEft aid, was in line with last year, but grant income was £32,202 lower.
Expenditure for the year totsled £83.77612021: £132,265), of which the Parish Share was £38,88012021:

mainly due to £52,798 of spend on building restoration and re-ordering in 2021 not being repeated in 2022.

Charity'l. for the year ended 31 De￿mber 2022, which are set out on pages 8 to 12.

The charitvs trustees are responslble for the preparation of the flnanclal statements. The chari￿s trustee5
consider that an audit is not requi￿￿ for thls year (under section 144121 of the Charities Act 20111the 2011

The financial statements have been prepa￿￿ in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Prattice applicable to thaff(ies preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Stan(lard for Smaller Entities published on 16 July 2014, the Financial Rewrting
Standard for Smaller Entities (FR￿E) and the Charities Act 2011 and UK Gènerally Attepted PratticÈ as
applies from I. January 2015.
The financial statement5 have been prepared to glve a ttrue and fairf view gnd have departed from the
Charities IAcoiunts and Reportsl Regulations 2(K18 onty to the extent required to provide a 'true and fair
vie￿.
Golng concern
The charl￿5 forecasts and projections show that the charity should be able to operate within the level of
its current ta5h reserves. After making enquiries, the trustee5 have a rea50ftable expectation that the
charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existen￿ for the foreseeable future. The
charity therefore continue5 to adopt the going concem basis in preparing its financbal statements.
Intome and expendlture
Income represents donation5 (together with Income tax repayable respett of tsx deducted at source),
grants, income from Investments and Inte￿$t on deposits are induded in the financial statements when
credited or due to be received.
Expendlture is included in the financial statements on a cash basis when pald.

Funds specifically received for pro5ects and schemes li.e. 8ivirg for a specific cause), principally repairs
and restoration. are deemed to be restricted. All other furKIs are unrestricted and are available for the
general purposes of the charity.
