## **Kent Chinese Christian Church** ## **Ministry Report (April 2024 – March 2025)** _“We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work.”_ (Colossians 1:9) ## **Core Values** 1. **In spirit and in truth, praise God with all your heart.** - _"When speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Pass the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Chinese and other nationalities in and around Medway, and teach them to use the Bible as the centre of beliefs and life practices. 2. Become a spiritual home for Chinese Christians so that they can worship and serve the Trinity God. 3. Teach children the truth in Bible so that they grow with integrity and remain the same in old age. 4. Advocate the universal mission of Jesus Christ and help the poor and the weak. ## **Ministry Plan (April 2024 – March 2025)** ## **Goal:** Help believers take root, grow, and be established in KCCC. ## **Method:** Develop, promote, and practice the church’s ministry process. 1 ## **1. Introduction** Kent Chinese Christian Church (hereafter _KCCC_ ) continues to uphold its core values, striving to become a community that worships God in spirit and truth, supports one another in love, testifies to our faith through our lives, and responds to the calling of our generation. We believe worship is more than songs and prayers—it is the outflow of life, connecting believers with the Lord in spirit. We seek to build a loving church where brothers and sisters support one another through care and intercession; and we pursue righteousness and mercy so that our faith becomes visible in action, responding to the needs of our time. We thank God for HIS guidance. This year, our pastoral team welcomed **Pastor Shing-Yin Macro PANG** as Youth Pastor, focusing on expanding KCCC’s youth gospel ministry, shepherding and caring for young people, and helping them grow. Through teaching and Sunday preaching, he helps believers build a strong foundation of faith. Pastor Pang also contributes to the development of the Saturday Paddock Wood service, the worship team, and church administration. KCCC is committed to building a warm, caring, equipping, and service-encouraging community. Over the past year, through a structured ministry process, we have sought to help newcomers understand the church, join small groups, receive faith training, and eventually commit to serving. The following sections report on attendance, Sunday services, Bible learning, small groups, pastoral care, outreach, volunteers, finance, and administration. ## **2. Attendance** We thank God for HIS grace. From April 2024 to March 2025, the average attendance at Sunday worship was around **230 people** , an increase of about **10%** compared to last year. The average attendance for Saturday worship was **50 people** , also showing growth of about **13%** from the previous year. This growth indicates that KCCC has become a spiritual home for Hongkongers settling in the UK, providing connection and support for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We pray that God will continue to lead more people into worship, so that together we may experience renewal and growth in our faith. At the same time, KCCC provides various Sunday gatherings, Bible and gospel learning opportunities for congregants and the wider community, helping them understand the Christian faith. Through small- 2 group ministries, we also offer pastoral care and support to church members, community residents, and newly arrived Hongkongers. ## **3. Sunday Gatherings** KCCC provides a variety of gatherings for church members and the wider community, including Sunday Worship, Revival Meetings, Christmas Thanksgiving Service, Youth Sunday, Easter Service, Gospel Sunday, June Fourth Memorial Service, and fellowship events such as _Tea_ or _Coffee_ . These activities help participants build connections, establish roots in both the church and the community, and adjust to life in the UK. KCCC also offers a Children’s Sunday School programme for children aged 3–11. Children worship through hymns, learn Bible stories, and participate in various activities such as summer programmes, prayer activities, board games, crafts, and the 2024 Shoebox project. No. of participants in each class (average): - Beginners: 14 - Intermediate: 16 - Advanced: 16 The Children’s Ministry team includes 13 lead teachers and 18 assistant teachers. All teachers have completed Safeguarding Training and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, meeting the requirements for serving in children’s ministries. KCCC also runs the “SYTJ Youth Fellowship,” accompanying young people from Year 7 and above on their faith journey. Currently, the ministry serves over **40 young people** . To serve them more effectively, the fellowship is divided into senior and junior groups. During Sunday Worship, a dedicated youth message segment is provided, where pastors preach messages relevant to their age group. During the summer, we also hold youth camps to help them build relationships and learn together. 3 ## **4. Learning the Bible and the Gospel** KCCC encourages and guides members to draw spiritual nourishment from God’s Word through preaching, reading groups, adult Sunday school, renewal meetings, seasonal gatherings, seminars, and other activities. These ministries help believers practice the Lord’s teachings in their daily lives and support both church members and the wider community as they face the challenges of our times. Over the past year, Dr. Jonathan Tsoi has led various Bible study courses at the church, including studies on the _Book of Daniel_ , “Old Testament Prophets and Social Justice,” _Job_ and the theme of suffering, “From Creation to Consummation,” and “Bible Study Essentials,” nurturing the congregation through Scripture. On June 15 (Saturday) and July 7 (Sunday), KCCC invited Dr. Alex Hon-Ho Ip to lead the 2024 Renewal Meetings, focusing on how believers who have migrated to the UK can respond to God’s calling and live out goodness in their daily lives. Below is a summary of the Bible-learning and Gospel-teaching activities from the past year: - Adult catechesis and children's baptism courses. - Adult Sunday School: _Book of Daniel_ , “Old Testament Prophets and Social Justice,” _Job_ and the theme of suffering, “From Creation to Consummation,” and “Bible Study Essentials,” taught by Dr. Jonathan Tsoi - Pre-Lent scripture meditations through inspiring audio-visual segments shared to encourage closeness to God. - Small group materials derived from Sunday sermons, providing monthly discussion materials for various small groups. ## **5. Small Group Care** This year we continued our “regional pastoral care” strategy. To date, there are 20 small groups that meet regularly, including youth groups, young working adult groups, parent–child groups, men’s groups, women’s groups, and others. Each group aims to foster interaction and exchange of life experiences among church members, many of whom are Hong Kong migrants in the UK. Through diverse group activities, we encourage members to share their faith testimonies, life challenges, and experiences of relocating to the UK, building relationships and supporting one another. Each group has a coordinator responsible for maintaining contact and caring for group members, as well as leading Bible study, prayer, and other activities. Group leaders stay closely connected with the pastoral team. A monthly “Group Leaders’ Recharge Station” is held, where leaders receive teaching, 4 share experiences, and pray for each other to strengthen their shepherding abilities. In April, we held an MBTI workshop to help brothers and sisters understand their own and others’ personality traits, enhancing communication and fellowship within the small groups. ## **6. Pastoral Care** Pastoral team members deepen their care and shepherding for church members through involvement in small groups, thereby experiencing the richness of Christ's life together in these groups. Additionally, pastoral team members conduct caring visits, reaching out to church members and individuals within the community, assisting newcomers to KCCC in adapting to life in the UK and integrating into church life. Since October 2021, the evening prayer meetings united members in prayer until July 2023 when those meetings shifted to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Regardless of the attendance or frequency of participation in these prayer meetings, our prayers continue to echo for the world's needs, the church's development, and the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our members. We consistently heed the teachings in Ephesians, remaining vigilant and unceasing in prayer, interceding for others as we await the return of Christ. ## **7. Outreach Work** We thank God for HIS guidance. In 2024, the Paddock Wood ministry continued to grow under the Lord’s grace, providing spiritual nourishment and companionship in faith to the community. In terms of worship and evangelism, the Amazing Grace Worship Revival and Evangelistic Meetings, Praying Kids Music Sharing inspired believers to respond to God’s calling with their lives. The “Chinese New Year Fair” helped strengthen community connections and witness Christ’s love. As we step into 2025, we are excited to officially begin our weekly Saturday worship, offering spiritual nourishment to even more people. May we journey together in faith and witness God’s marvelous works in our lives! Servants (Volunteers)** We thank God for HIS grace. Over the past year, KCCC has gradually established and improved various service teams and roles, allowing brothers and sisters to serve together wholeheartedly. These include the Pastoral Care Team, Reception Team, Worship Administration Team, Sunday School and Youth Fellowship Mentors, Praise Team, Choir, PPT Production Team, Worship Live Streaming and Sound Control Team, Scripture Readers, as well as the Privacy Policy Team, Church Charter Team, Church Bylaws Committee, KCCC Safeguarding Team, and the Pastoral Appointment Committee, etc. Through training and policy adjustments, each service team has continued to grow. For example, the KCCC Safeguarding Team actively promotes and provides relevant training to all volunteers, striving to build a safe, truthful, and loving spiritual home, protecting the congregation from harm, and watching over one another in the Lord. We firmly believe that all these efforts are to witness God’s glory, and we pray that KCCC Church will continue to grow strong in the love of the Lord. ## **9. Structure, Governance, and Management** We thank the commitment and dedication of the **trustee** members, who have played a crucial role in establishing important documents for the church, such as the **Statement of Faith** , **Core Values** , and **Church Charter** . With the approval of the UK charity registration certificate, we have worked to align our church’s operations with the legal requirements set by the UK government for charitable organizations. This has involved refining documents such as the Church Charter and operational guidelines. KCCC has developed a structure that effectively enables the church to function.
