I have examined the accounting records of the Stamford & District Lions Club for the year ended 30[th] June 2025. 

The movements in the club’s bank accounts are as follows:-

An analysis of the club’s activities for the year is attached. Ordinarily the annual Rock on the Rec is the club’s best fundraising event but July 2024’s was spoiled by bad weather. 

In my opinion satisfactory records are being kept by the club and appropriate controls are in place. The movement in the bank accounts shown represent an accurate summary of the transactions of the club during the year. 

The Talking Newspaper Fund was donated to the club expressly for audio support to the blind or visually impaired. Newsprint is converted to accessible audio but began before the widespread availability of digital media. The account holds over £3000 which is difficult to redirect to the club’s other, valuable, charitable work. If the club can find a way of using some of this money for other good causes or can use it to temporarily fund such work, this would have my full support.
