Message from The Board of Trustees
Kutu Chand was the nickname of Mofur Uddin. He started from humble beginnings and became an orphan at a very young age. Much of his early life was lived in poverty. Things took a positive turn for him when he was given the opportunity to migrate to the UK. Life in the UK was difficult for him as he worked most of his working life in factories and sometimes worked 7 days a week.
Through his hard work he was able to change the financial situation of his family. He was known among the community in the UK as well as in Bangladesh for his generosity and willingness to help the poor and needy. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2016 and sadly passed away in 2019.
Kutu Chand Foundation was started by us, his family, after his death as we wanted to continue his legacy of charity. It was registered with the Charity Commission around two years after his death.
In our second year following full registration, we have been able to build on the success of the first year. Our projects have continued successfully and in particular we have had a great year for our house build and tube well projects. On top of this we have increased the number of individuals/families that we are sponsoring and been able to help many families with income generation help.
With everyone’s help and support we hope to build on this success over the coming few years.

Plans for 2024
2023 has been a very successful year in which we have been able to impact the lives of many individuals and families. The lives of many families have been completely transformed, most notably though our house build project as demonstrated in the before and after photos. Our ongoing tube well project has ensured that many more families have access to clean water. These projects have only been possible through the help of our generous donors and the hard work of our volunteers.
The entire team at Kutu Chand Foundation look forward to 2024 and hope that it will be an even more successful year in which we build on the success of previous years. Our hope is that with your help, we can continue and expand these projects so that we can help more individuals and families and continues our mission to relieve poverty in Bangladesh.
