thriving, 8rr)win8 in confidence, independence and'knowledge. One child showed such a
curiosity around their apple seed and from thi5 an experiment to grow our own ha5 be8un.

We've recently began to make changes to Garden and Sensory room tDllowinB reflection5
from staff about utilising the spÈte5, and how the children have been using them.
There are.excitin8 pl4ns cominB forward as thi5 academic yeaf progresse5 where the team are
hoping to see the sunshine and niake the most of our refreshed outdoor space.
They have ideas about getting out into the community and have some further ideas around
thTrs about parent vlsits In which they will be inwted into the setting to show their skills or
spend some time with the Broup around one of OLtr tsngoing interest5. There has been a bi8
push with Independent ski115 and speech. language and communication as these seem to be
two promlnent areas ol development currently for our Explorers and were hoplng to see
some amaiin8 growth with inputs such as the commun¢tation boards, speech interventions,
daily and broken dpwn routines and naturally our adult scaffoldin8.

Although we lollow in the moment planniry, we also really appreciate the importance ol
planning certaln elements of Creators Ilfe, we a8aln 35k the chlldren what they would Ilke to
dollearn about, We then intorporate this into our provocationsllnvltations and environment.
We have introduced self.service lunth, we put the food irrto serving bow15 on Ouf lunch unit
and the chlldren que to help themselves. Thls enables them to make decisions for themselves
and think about the foods they are eatlnL foods they Ilkeldon't Ilke and lots more. We teel
thls has been such a good addltion to our routine, the thildren are very responsible, gett1n8
their own cutlery, drinks, gotng up for more portions, walklni sensibly with their bowls and so
much more. Our next step is to create a 'wash station, for them to begin wa5hlng their plète5,
thlnkinB about waste and compostlng etc.
There h)s been si8ni*i¢ant improved levels of parental en8a8ement since transitlonln8 onto
'Do lo,. thls really sults the Creators as it 15 in line wrth reception class and we don't have the
need for element Tapestry offer5 such a5 Care Diaries. The instant messaging Is very useful.
Creotors have really been enjoying process art and capturtng the chlldren's thoughts and
eKpresslons and thls has led us on to pl4nnln8 an 'Art Exhibltion, for the parents to Come to at
the be8inning of.july to look at all the beautiful piece5 the children have created. We are
really looking forward to thi51 I We will also be hosts.ng a Motherfs Day and Fatherfs Day event
as mlnlnTrum.

SAFEGUARPING-There has been sorne sa(eguardin8 Incidents where we have worked with
