Aims and Objectives.
The first aim of original charity was created to promote social, mental and physical wellbeing of the patients registered at the Roseland Surgeries GP practice.
This aim has been continued with the CIO. During the financial period under review several activities were organised to benefit registered patients.
-
Roseland Café. A pop-up café serving tea/coffee and cakes in Gerrans Parish Memorial Hall (GPMH) every second Thursday afternoon. This is a popular event with elderly residents. The event is funded by voluntary donations from attendees.
-
Veryan Café/ Warm Hub. This pop-up café operates in the Veryan Village Hall in the Roseland peninsular. Provides hot and cold drinks and warm food for local elderly people in a social setting. There is a new café/hub in St Just in Roseland which has started in this financial year/
-
Walking for Fun. This activity is now self supporting and requires no help from the charity.
-
Line Dancing. A regular event at GPMH in Gerrans. Funded by voluntary donations from attendees. Some support is still required for this activity.
-
Singing for Fun. This activity is now self supporting and requires no help from the charity.

-
Painting for Fun. Group activity supported by local artists. Also held at GPMH. Funded by voluntary donations.
-
Table tennis. A popular regular event at GMPH and at St.Mawes Memorial Hall. Donations from these activities are used to hire village halls for the purpose.
-
Grants of £250 were made to the Tregony Repair Shop, which provides expertise in repairing a variety of items for village people in a social setting, and to the Philleigh Chatters group, which provides a forum for villagers to meet and discuss a variety of local issues.
All of these activities are at varying stages of needing financial help, some fully independent and others at the early stages.
The second aim of the charity is to provide and maintain a network of defibrillators across all the villages in the Roseland peninsula. The network consists of 30 defibrillators placed in prominent positions in the local villages of St Mawes, Gerrans, Portscatho, St Just in Roseland, Ruan Lanihorne and Veryan. These villages are located some distance from local ambulance and paramedic access and sometimes more than an hour away from hospitals. The charity considers this activity as key to the wellbeing of local residents and visitors.
