## **TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT (5th NOVEMBER 2021 TO 30th NOVEMBER 2022) CITY WORSHIP GLOBAL 1196423**

## **Overview**

This year overall has been fruitful year for us as an organisation. Establishing ourselves under Charity Commission was a huge milestone for us as a small organisation. With a lot of moving parts, the aim of the year as an organisation was to begin to establish foundational elements that we would be able to build upon in order to create a sustainable church organisation that can stand in the future. From the lifting of lockdown and the huge impact that Covid-19 pandemic had in our country, it was important that we had a focus on supporting our church community members. A large amount of our congregation is of the millennial and Gen-z demographic. One of the key areas of life that was affected by the pandemic was **community** and that was what we decided to safely and carefully place an emphasis on as the lockdowns and restrictions were lifted. As a small church community, we were also able to support local community initiatives and support other charitable initiatives across the country.

One of the key points to highlight is that as an organisation we have still been to keep afloat during a time of economic uncertainty, a cost of living crisis and financial pressure of so many. Consistency, generosity and service have kept us going and will be a huge vehicle of strength and empowerment moving forward!

## **Gatherings**

We put a lot of effort to ensuring our services were as compliant as possible, following the government guidelines for religious organisations in relation to covid etc . Instead of weekly physical gatherings, we initially started with meeting up physically one Sunday a month and then the remaining Sundays of the month would be online services. We only a weekly basis would have over 70 people tune in to our online services consistently and through social media we were able to reach hundreds of people a week through our online content. Our physical services encouraged the community aura that is one of our core values. People felt safe, loved, valued and seen. Regular check-ins with members and visitors helped establish consistency in this area and helped forge strong relationship between the leadership and the members.

Hospitality being a key part of our services allowed members to connect whilst being served food & refreshments. It is important to recognise that due to the pandemic a few of our members were heavily impacted financially, which directly impacts overall wellbeing. Being fed and supported in various ways was a hallmark activity during the year.

## **Education**

This year we have placed a huge emphasis on Biblical literacy across the board, from leadership to members of the local church. The emphasis has been placed on this area so that as Christians, we can effectively understand the teachings of Christ throughout the whole Bible, as well as practically apply those teaching to personal and communal life. A Bible foundations course was developed in order to go through core tenets of the

Christian faith. It was also developed to help establish our core beliefs as a church, so that anyone who joins has the same foundational understanding as other members. Our first cohort had over 20 people that followed the course through a systematic set of educational teachings.

We also as part of our educational offerings provided educational session on finances, mental wellbeing and social impact. Part of us offering educational sessions in these areas was to help practicalize principles that were upheld by New testament believers. We also recognise the impact that the pandemic had on our members and in order to support them we had put some of these sessions in place to help boost the morale and also create a supportive mechanism in place to help provide the tools for growth, learning and development amongst our members.
