ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE In this, our second full period as a registered charity, the Trustees had to make significant efforts in fundraising from known 5UPPOrters to help sUPPOrt the organisational and ground operations of EHRA in Namlbia which had been hit very hard by flwds and the slow pick up in volunteers after the pandemic. Without the prospect of recruiting enough volunteer5 to visit Namibia to work on the ground supporting the local projects, it was left to the local 5tsff to manage these as best as they were able. to ensure the sustainability in the short to medium tenn. The Trustees remain very positive about the future of the projects operating in Namibia. The projects we funded in Namibia are back on track and the volunteer teams began to again arrive in country. The projects we funded continued to tske a moTe holistic approach to conserve the elephants. by addressing every area of people's lives that elephants negatively affect and finding practical solutions to mitigate each one. Conflict in the eastern areas remains rife. The camp and education centre were rebuilt and are now open and functioning effectively. We also continued to support the new environmentsl education program, the S.E.E.D. Project An inspiring and infomiative curriculum and workbook were created and the project received fomial approvals from the Ministry of Education in both regions a5 well as from NIED (National Institute for Educational Development). We all feel very proud of this projecL FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS Our aim going forward 15 to continue to support the ongoing development and inrtiatives of EHRA in Namibia, in particular the PEACE projecL and elephant safety education project. Going forwanl in 2024, finding wothable solutions for the commercial farms so that the idea of a corridor betsveen the commercial and communal lands become5 3 reality, poses our biggest challenge. TRANSAcnoNS AND FINANCIAL RESULTS As a small charity with income under the threshold requirement for a full audit The Trustees prepared the accounts on a Receipts and Payments basis. These have been independently examined. Thi5 report reflects our first period of operation a5 an incorporated entity, registered with Charity Commission on 5th November 2021. The surplus of funds raised prior to this have been included as income to the newly incorporated charity.. Detsils of the financial transactions of EHRA UK are given in the accounts. We continue to rely on individual donations mainly through our known network of supporters using specific campaigns Such as 'Adopt an Elephanv We also had to react to the floods that hit the country and the projects. This focussed our hjndraising efforts. We will continue to use the Paypal and Just Giving platforms to accept the donatlons as these are easily and SecUlY acce55ible to supporters. The surplus on the year and therefore the totsl funds carried forwaftl £27.340 5TATEMENTOF TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILtfiES The tnjstees are responsible for preparfng the Report of the trustees and the financial ststements.
