Constitution- based on the Charity Commission’s model governing document for Charitable Incorporated Organisations.

Charitable Objectives

As defined in the Charities Constitution (Governing Document)

The Charities Objects are: “The Meg’s Arm of Love is a charity used for the interest of the public. It is for the prevention or relief of poverty in particular but not exclusively of single mothers and their children, and persons affected by homelessness, in such ways as the trustees think fit, such as:

a) Empowering persons Through the provision of education to assist persons in self-help to improve and attain a better quality of life.

b) Advancing the community through the provision of outreach projects to offer guidance and provide information, practical advice, and emotional support.”

Trustee Appointment Methods

Recruitment and Selection of new trustees is in obedience with the charity’s constitution and with the Trustees acknowledgement and consent. The criteria set for the suitable candidate would be someone who is of legal age and is committed to the needs and stipulations of the organisation.

Charity Activities

Growth and Development of the Charity

Meg’s Arm of Love was established and registered during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. Despite the challenges and restrictions of that period, the charity successfully established its banking arrangements and began raising awareness of its mission through digital platforms, personal networks, WhatsApp, charitable fundraising links, business cards and other promotional activities.

Since those early beginnings, Meg’s Arm of Love has continued to develop its presence and expand its community-focused activities. The charity now maintains an official website, megsarmoflove.org , which provides information about its charitable work, programmes, volunteering opportunities, community

support services, fundraising activities and ways for individuals and families to access support. The charities donation page is also hosted on its website.

The Charities registration took place during the pandemic. In spite of this, Meg’s Arm of Love was able to open a bank account and also raise awareness of the Charities existence (mostly to friends, family, associates) and goals through online activities. i.e., WhatsApp, circulation of PayPal Giving Fund donation link, Charity Business cards etc.

Its current programmes and initiatives include:

1. The Agora Forum , providing practical and emotional support;

The Owó Empowerment Project , focused on financial knowledge and economic independence;

3. Meg’s Corner , supporting education, mentoring and life-skills development;

4. Feed My Sheep Project , providing food assistance;

What Do You Know? Quiz Night , promoting learning and community participation; and
The Mercy Table , providing food parcels, clothing, household essentials and other donated items to people experiencing hardship.

The charity has also strengthened opportunities for volunteering, community participation, charitable giving and collaborative working. Through these activities, Meg’s Arm of Love continues to pursue its mission of empowering women, supporting children, strengthening families, relieving hardship and helping individuals build confidence, independence and brighter futures.

Meg’s Arm of Love delivers educational meetings, workshops, and community forums, both online and in person, to improve financial awareness, develop practical skills, promote wellbeing, and strengthen community connections. Alongside these activities, the charity provides food parcels, clothing, household essentials, and other donated items to individuals and families experiencing hardship, prioritising those most in need. All programmes are delivered for the public benefit and in furtherance of the charity’s objectives, with the Trustees having due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when exercising their duties and making decisions.

Charity’s Accomplishments & Achievements

Goals of the Charity, Main Activities and Administration of our Projects

When executing our projects in England – Essex and other parts of the United Kingdom, the trustees are conscious of the charity commission guidelines on public aid and believe that the Charity has acted in accordance with the duty in

Section 17 (S) of the charity Act 2011 . The charity’s main goals are summarised as follows:

1) The Prevention or Relief of Poverty
2) Empowering persons through the provision of education to assist persons in self-help to improve and attain a better quality of life.
3) Advancing the community through the provision of outreach projects to offer guidance and provide information, practical advice, and emotional support.
4) Granting support for the cohesiveness of the family structure as a building block of the community/society.

Meg’s Arm of Love Projects, Activities and Achievements

The Feed My Sheep Project: No human being, especially a child should have to go hungry. Thus, this project aims at feeding the community not just on a physical scale but mentally/emotionally and spiritually.

The Agora Forum: This is an assembly (online and/or Onsite) where members of the community come together and reflect on current events/issues and how to stay on top of things and continue to thrive regardless of their circumstances.

What Do You Know? Quiz Night: A monthly activity. General Knowledge quizzes with prizes given at the end to top performers. This is a fun way to educate and inform while having fun.

The Mercy Table:The Mercy Table: A community support initiative providing food, clothing, household essentials, and quality pre-loved items to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

The Owó Empowerment Project: A financial empowerment initiative providing practical knowledge, training, and guidance to help individuals improve financial literacy, develop income opportunities, and work towards greater economic independence.

Meg’s Corner : An education and personal development initiative providing mentoring, learning opportunities, and practical life-skills support to help individuals build confidence, develop their abilities, and create a more successful future.

The Christmas Family Bash: No one should be alone during the festivities. A fun filled program where all attendees talk, dance, laugh, learn, and dine together.

In the United Kingdom

21 families were supported across Essex.
98 food parcels were distributed during the Christmas family Bash, December of 2025
80 persons including women and their children were given Christmas presents and gift cards.

We believe one of our greatest achievements is the emotional support, care, and encouragement we give to people in our community, alongside providing food and other essential items. Many people and families continue to face financial difficulties, loneliness, and other challenges, making community support more important than ever. Through our work, we have learned that kindness, love, compassion, and understanding can make a real difference in people’s lives. We are proud of the progress Meg’s Arm of Love has made and remain committed to growing our work, reaching more people, strengthening families, and helping individuals and communities build better and brighter futures.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF MEG’S ARM OF LOVE

We report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 December 2025, which are set out on pages 9 to 13.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is our responsibility to:

examine the accounts (under section 43(3)(a) of the 1993 Act);
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners (under section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act); and
To state whether particular matters have come to our attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

(1) Which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements,
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act; and
To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting
requirements of the 1993 Act as amended.

Have not been met; or

(2) To which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
