PRINCIPALACTIVITY &ANNUAL REPOKr: The principal activity of the charity in the year under r8view was th8t of the man8gement and administration of the charity to pursue the Objects ofthe Association. As with last year the volunteers. main work has been to research and identity suitable premises and to recruit additional Trustees prior to launching project-specific activities. The charity has been recruiting newTrustees and has not undertaken any income- generating initiatives ov8r the past year. Its aims are as follows: "To develop the capacity and skills of the members of socially andlor economically disadvantaged communities in the P8rish of St Ives. Cornwall in such a way thatthey are better able to identify and help meet. their needs and to participate more fully in SOCi8ty." The initial activities of the Charity have been to raise funds to enable support and delivery of local projects to improve the skills. health and wellbeing of local residents. It IS anticipated that the recruited Trustegs will take office at the Annual General Meeting in May 2025 and the FoundingTrustees will step down as suggested by the Charity Commission at the time offirst registration. This was to ensure no confLict of interest as the FoundingTrustees were alsoTrustees of other charities who may subsequently become potential beneficiaries of Sustainable St Ives. Ourgeneral objects are summarlsed below: 1. The advan￿ment of general charitable purposes (according to the laws of England and Wales) as the Trustees see fit. In particular but not limited to making grants and awards to community groups in the area of benefft. 2. To promote the improvement of the conditions of life in the parish of St Ives, Cornwall for public benefit where there are socially and economically disadvantaged cx)mrTJunibes by developing the capacity and skills of the residents of the parish in such a way that they are better able to identify and participate more fully in society. 3. The prevention or relief of tx)verty by providing grants, items and SeNi￿S to charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty. 4. The promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growih and regeneration. 5.
