It is difficult to write a case study as mst of our pupils travel to and from school on local authority transport, so we don't see many parents when the bags are handed over. There have been many parents who have told us that the bags have made a real difference to them and has provided much needed food security. Tnjstees resolved to move to a receipts and payments basis of accounting from 2023 instead of accounting on an accruals basis. The prior year comparatives have been restated on a like-for-like basis. Our main source of income this year was £133.956 received in restricted grants. Total income for the year was £134,907 {2022= £49,9501- Total expenditure for the year was £128.27912022: £20.3981. The unrestricted fund is in a deficrt of £34,571 at 31 October 202312022.. £4501 as the charity awaits transfer of the second part of pre-secured NMHPR grant. This was re￿iVed in 2023124 accounting year Icirca £40kl pending submission of the interim 6-monlh report. This second funding part was received 2023124 as expected to rebalanced apparent unrestrided shortfall. Restricted funds held at 31 October 2023 which are to be used for the specrfic projects they were provided for were £70,751 {2022.' £29,552). Re erves Polic The purpose of the reserve policy is to ensure the stability of the mission, programs, employment, and ongoing operations of the organisation. Unrestrided or free reserves are intended to provide an internal source of funds for situations such as a sudden increase in expenses, one-time unbudgeled expenses, unanlicipaled loss in funding, or uninsured losses. These reserves may also be used for one-time, nonrecurring expenses that will build long-term capacity, such as staff development, research and development, or investment in infrastructure. Reserves are not intended to replace a permanent loss of funds or eliminate an ongoing budget gap. 11 is the intention of The CFHW Foodbank for reserves to be used and replenished within a reasonably short period of lime. I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts as required under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5){b) of the Act.
