were involved in their first ever studio recording at The Premises
Studios, Hackney.
Saturday 5th April - Marked the 10th Anniversary of ELSOM. We hosted
a Day of of Thanksgiving and Celebration at our site, Clapton
Community SDA Church, Chelmer Road, Hackney. Performances by
ELSOM orchestra, ensembles, solo performances and 3 students
presented mini sermons.
Sunday 6th April: Play The Organ Year, hosted by Sir Andrew Parmley
from the Royal College of Organists. The event included performances
by 8 ELSOM Organ students and we opened the console for members
of the public to experience playing on our pipe organ. About 60 people
from the community attended.
Thursday 10th April: 10th Anniversary concert at our school site in
Hackney attended by HRH The Duchess of Gloucester. Our partners,
the Dagenham Eagles Drum Corps led the parade outside the church
and welcomed the arrival of the Duchess. Performances by ELSOM
Orchestra and soloists Chikezie Chike-Michael (Bass-Baritone) and
Alexandra Bell-Cobbold (Soprano)
12 students were also preparing to sit their practical exams, to be taken
