The Trustees present their report and financial ststements for the period ended 31
December 2024.
Objectlves
Green Bean Trust (the Yrust") is a registered charity. constituted as a Charitable
Incorporated Organi5atlon. It was established in 2021 by Graham Barker and his fellow
Trustees to support charitable projects for the public benefit under three main strands:
architettural and social heritage; woodlands, waterways and natural environments; housing
and skills.
The area of benefit of the Trust ￿ UK wide, with priority given to applications that will
benefit individuals or communitles In Lelcestef. Leicestershire, Tower Hamlets and other
inner London boroughs.
The Trust is not open to unsolicited 3pplitrations- instead, the TrLJStees seek out projects and
organisations aligned to the Trusys objectives and prioritie

Activities
In March 2024, it was agreed to provide one grant Iwith another organisation invited to
apply, but declining to do sol:

Icomp05ed of Precambrian volcanic ash, tuffs
and slump brecci3sI. The grasses, herbs and
lichens that thrive here are diverse and, in
some cases, very rare in Leicestershire.
Altar Stones is, however, currently absent of
areas of open water so. with help from our
grant, LRWT will dig a new 60 square metre
pond, creating a habitat for a wide range of
wetland species such a5 dragonflies. palmate
newts and water-borne invertebrates.

Trusteeg responsbllltles for the flnancial statements
Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each finanaal period
which show the state of affairs of the charity and of net income or expenditure of the
charity for that period. In preparing those finanoal statements, the Trustees are required to:

The Trustees are responslble for keeping proper accounting records and disclosing with
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity to enable the Trustees
to prepare financial statements. The Trustees are responsible for safeguarding the assets of
the charity and hence fortskin8 reasonable steps for the prevention offraud and other
irregularities.

l Accounting policies
Basls of preparatlon: The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Stsndard in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FR5102), and the Accounting
and Reporting by Charities- Statement of Recommended Pr3tt1ce applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with FR5102-the Charities SORP (FR51021. a5
modified for smaller charitie5. The charity meets the definition of a public benefit entity as
defined under FRSIO2.
A¢¢ountlng for Income: Donations investment.income and sundry income are accounted
for on a receipts basis.
Resources expended are recognised in the period in whith costs are incurred. Resources
expended include attributable VAT. which cannot be recovered.
Accountlng for purchases with an expetted Ilfe of MO￿ than one year. it has been
considered prudent to write off the costs of such items in the year of purchase.
Depreclation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset over its
expected useful life, as follow5: freehold land and property {nill and fixtures, fittings and

There are no paid employees. Trustees are not remunerated. but can claim reimbursement
of eligible out-of-pocket expenses. No suth reimbursements were claimed in 2024.
