This**<br>**included the first orchestral concert**<br>**with 17 musicians on stage. In addition**<br>**to this the charity staged an Opera Gala**<br>**concert in July 2022 with four singers**<br>**and a string quintet accompanying**<br>**them.**<br>**The other concerts in the period were:**<br>**24 Sep Mendelssohn D minor violin**<br>**concerto with Mathilde Milwidsky;**<br>**20 November Flute recital with**<br>**Katherine Baker;**<br>**11 February Brahms and Barlow String**<br>**Quartets**<br>**18 March Ravel Septet for winds and**<br>**strings**<br>**29 April Narrated piano recital with**<br>**Jessica Duchen.**<br>**In addition to the concerts, the other**<br>**main branch of the charity’s activites,**<br>**the string school for young people went**<br>**from strength to strength, following the**<br>**move to a Monday evening in**<br>**Benenden, Kent. The group finished the**<br>**period with 14 members, from age 8-13**<br>**and undertook two concerts and an**<br>**appearance at the Benenden Village**<br>**Fete in June.**<br>**It is the aim of the Trustees to**<br>**encourage more children from state**<br>**schools, who have limited access to**<br>**musical experiences to join. At the time**<br>**of writing, the group has 21% non-**<br>**independent school representation.**|
