(a) Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed Trustee selection methods for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly (e.g. appointed by, elected by) convened meeting of the charity trustees. The charity is reliant on volunteers to assist in providing its services to the public in the event of a death.
In addition, the Charity works closely with the Local Registrars, Area Health Authorities and The Coroners officers. The Charity has formed links with all these organisations and have become a point of reference for them.

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
The objects of the CIO are the advancement of Islamic faith for the public benefit by the provision of a burial service specifically for but not limited to those who follow the Muslim faith together with advice support and assistance in relation to the procedures and practices relating to the burial of the deceased.

The charity provides the services and items necessary to achieve their objects in the governing document. This includes, but not limited to, the following:
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
a) Provide facilities and services for the washing, transportation, and the burial of the deceased free of charge (including liaising with partner organisations where required). (b) Provide advice and assistance in relation to all aspects relating to the legal disposal of the deceased in the UK. (c) Dealing with other regulatory bodies and service providers relating to burials and all other aspects on behalf of the deceased and/or their families.
Charity Commission requires the trustees of a charity to: • Select suitable accounting policies, apply them consistently, make judgement and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
• Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless there is a reason to believe that the charity will not continue for the foreseeable future. The Trustees are responsible for the keeping of proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charity Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence to take reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The charity is reliant on volunteers to assist in providing the aforementioned services to the public in the event of a death.
The charity is truly fortunate and appreciative of the time and effort provided (and continue to provide) by its volunteers to assist those in their time of need and grief – Thank you to all volunteers!

The Charity has not undertaken any fundraising drives during the year, it has mainly been approached by members of the public who have suffered a bereavement within their family/friends, and they have offered to donate towards the cost of services we provide. The Charity will undertake fundraising activity on “needs” basis rather than to hold surplus funds. The Charity is now hoping to use the excess funds to purchase a second Van/Hearse due to the volume of death being catered for. |

| I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the period ended 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2023. |
Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or

the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
