ACIS – All Children in School
Annual Report of Activities 31 October 2022
About Us
ACIS is a UK based Muslim charity founded in 2018, dedicated to improving the quality of both Secular and Islamic Education for the needy children including orphans. Our main objective is to make Education accessible in the Republic of Guinea (West Africa), to every child regardless of their gender, background, disabilities, location, and religious beliefs.
So far with the help of Allah and all our donors’ support, we have been able to assist 4,000 families . In conjunction with our varied programmes, we aim to provide all the necessary resources required in improving the standards of living by; breaking cycle of poverty and paving the way for a better future for our children; – through the power of Education!
Stationery Kits Distribution
According to research, 2 out of 3 school children in West Africa do not have the required stationery kits to support their Education. Thousands of children in Sub-Saharan Africa are deprived of basic school supplies such pens, pencils, textbooks and writing materials. Without the necessary school supplies, bright young minds lack focus and a sense of enthusiasm due to lack of exposure to better learning experiences. And as such, too many young people with high potential turn to destructive rather than constructive paths or subpar learning. ACIS aims to transform young people’s lives by not only offering stationery kits to children from poor backgrounds, but also providing essential educational tools to schools. By improving the access to quality Education and equipping the future leaders of Guinea with a chance to better their lives, we remain committed in helping children develop a meaningful outlook on life. We have been able to reach out to over 200 children .
Madrasah Programme
As a charity, one of our fundamental priorities is to ensure that the children we cater for have a strong Islamic foundation. Keeping children’s hearts close to the Qur'an will not only instil them with proper Islamic values and principles but also enable them to excel in both worlds. In our Darouhoul Hadith Madrassahs based in Conakry and Kindia, we are fortunate to have over 500 children currently learning and memorising the book of Allah.
Sponsor A Child
We currently have over 10 children under our sponsor a child programme to whom we deliver monthly food packages. Our focus at the moment is to sponsor few children and make small meaningful consistent contributions rather sponsor thousands of children and fail in our quest in meeting their daily needs. We aim in offering long term help, by being active participants in their educational milestones. We want to be there during their struggles and triumphs in achieving their full potential and celebrate their success together.
School Feeding Programme
In line with UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG), our School Feeding Programme seeks to increase school enrolment and retention by enhancing food security, reduce hunger, prevent starvation and provide nutrition. ACIS recognises the critical link between nutrition and learning and so far, we have been able to provide free school meals to over hundreds of children in many primary schools in the rural areas of Guinea where poverty levels are high. Without this meal, many of these children would go to school hungry impacting negatively on both their health and ability to learn.
Ramadan Feeding Programme
There are many people in the rural areas of the Republic of Guinea who continue to live in abject poverty and unable to sustain themselves with even a single meal at the end of each day. We have so far distributed several food packs to those who need it the most to over 100 families.
With our Ramadan Feeding Programme, we aim in reaching out to the most deprived children and their families in the rural parts of Guinea. Despite the difficult terrains of rural Guinea, we do our best to ensure that no one is left out in the villages that we work in.
Zakat – ul Fitr Distribution
ACIS works with communities in the remote areas where people are living in extreme poverty. Children across the villages that we work in are living in dire conditions and are relying heavily on our support. The food package that we provide may be the only decent meal they have eaten in weeks. Every year the children look forward to us distributing Zakat -ul Fitr and make their Eid memorable. We were able to distribute Zakat -ul Fitr to over 100 families and look forward to doubling the amount in coming years.
Qurbani Distribution
Millions of children in the Republic of Guinea are experiencing hardship. ACIS Qurbani helps to mitigate their suffering by providing them with a nice meal on Eid ul-Adha. Our Qurbani is distributed in dire areas mostly in remote villages of Guinea. We were able to distribute over 50 Qurbani this year.
Many children and their families were unable to purchase meat for the celebrations due to financial constraints. The Qurbani helped in making their celebrations unique and unforgettable.
So far thanks to the generosity of our donors over hundreds of children and their families were provided with fresh meat in Boffa, Mali Yembering village and Conakry City so that they could celebrate Eid Ad-ha without any deterrence.
